Given the fact that Racheal Maddow who in a recent report mentioned that the Authorities in Flint Michigan, who let people know that the drinking water of the city was full of chemicals and Lead Pb in October 2015 (because of local activism and pressure), had actually warned the government staff in Flint of this and even delivered clean water sources to the offices a whole year before the public statement. (recent levels peaked at 4000 parts per million and the actionable limit is 15 parts per million)
“does not meet treatment requirements” for state employees to drink, even as the Snyder administration was assuring Flint residents about the integrity of their water.

I want to draw attention to a similar situation in the USA after the Fukushima nuclear disaster when high levels of Iodine 131 and other radionuclides were wafting their way to Europe. In Europe CRIIRAD had issued a warning on possible health effects in France and advised that children and Pregnant women should refrain from drinking milk and eating leafy vegetables. CRIIRAD also stated that the USA had ten times the level of radiation than France. The European Media did not run with the story nor did the US media, thus putting young children and Pregnant women at risk of increaing the amounts of iodine 131 they might have ingested or inhaled.

This must be shared by anyone who is in Japan. Please pass on if you know anyone who is in Japan. Taro Yamamoto talks about risk of Fukushima radiation in Japanese food. Current Japanese regulation allows nuclear waste level food to be on the market. He also appeals for people’s right to evacuate in contaminated areas. The political decision to protect the market economy has resulted in this catastrophic situation where many are predicting a major disaster according to numbers indicated by Chernobyl, Hiroshima and etc.

Taro Yamamoto Interview, regarding radiation exposure
We should regard the need for elimination of nuclear power as a fact. Japan is an earthquake prone nation. The Fukushima accident has proven that nuclear power plants can’t withstand earthquake and tsunami. But this country is totally heading in the opposite direction. We’ll restart nuclear plants. We’ll build more of them. We’ll export them too. We can only describe the situation as insanity.
When the power that forces nuclear power to prevail dominates us, we must focus our attention in seeking ways to survive. So the words we use to describe our policy should not be elimination of nuclear power, but it should be elimination of radiation exposure. We will not expose our children to radiation. And since it’s grownups’ job to do so, we will not expose grownups either. What can we do to achieve that goal? We have to give the right to evacuate to the people who live in areas with 1 m Sv per year. If anyone wishes to leave, the government must help with financial support as well as guaranteeing a job. That must be done, right? We are all victims. Today, we only have the right to be radiated. That’s not a right at all. It’s a coercion. Coercion of absurdity. Who can stand anything like that? We need the right to evacuate as well as the right to be radiated.
We had the accident in Fukushima caused by TEPCO. And, it is still continuing. There is 10 million Bq per hour radiation coming out of the plants. That’s 240 million Bq per day going out to the sky. The leakage into the ocean is not even counted. It’s just dumped freely. They don’t even know what sort of effects they can expect from it. In fact, they don’t want to know what the effects are. Because if they reveal the situation for what it is, they must admit that the entire area of eastern Japan is contaminated. Of course, the contamination is not evenly spread. But the hot spots do spread in the area. That must be disclosed. There are people who will be affected. In fact, there might be food being produced in such areas.
And they say that there is no need to worry because they inspect the food. The food is contaminated sporadically so it stands to reason that their sporadic inspection can miss the trace of contamination. According to the current Japanese regulation we can safely consume 100 Bq per 1 kg in our food. They say it’s OK to eat that much. But it’s not that clear just by hearing the number, right? But when we compare the number allowed today for our food consumption with the number before the accident, the number we have today is the same as the amount deemed as radioactive waste before the accident: The material that had to be stored in yellow barrels with a strict regulation. It was the material that had to be supervised for 1 million years. Now, they are telling us that it’s safe to eat. Please, I beg. Please stop. Give us some mercy. That’s how I feel. Why would a country do such a thing, you wonder. The answer is easy. Unless they use such a high number, the economy won’t turn around. Unless they use such a high number, our food won’t be on the market. There will be compensation and insurance issues to deal with.
So what can we do? I was compelled to stand up. I heard people saying there is no use for someone like myself. We should let the professionals deal with politics, they said. But the thing is that we are dealing with the result of letting the professionals do the job. I dare say that we need an idiot like myself who can act. I believe that I need to step forward with all my strength and raise my voice as much as I can, as I depend on people’s wisdom.

On the eve of the new book release in Derry, Northern Ireland I talk with John Lannon about the relevance of the book release coinciding with the Bloody Sunday tragedy on its remembrance day.
With recent news coming out about unregulated Snowden style spying by the Irish state on citizens, politicians and journalists we find that the UK Government makes the same mistakes today that Magaret Thatchers government made concerning the military strategy employed in Northern Ireland. The Irish Times claims some 1000`s of deaths could have been saved if a diplomatic solution was used at an earlier point.
John Lannon said that he felt that ireland was well on the track towards the trend of NATO imperialsim and violence if things were to continue on this course.
He said;
“The book looks at the transformation of Shannon Airport to a U.S. forward operating base”
He went on to say that a recent poll showed that 68 percent of Irish people were in favour of Irish neutrality.
The book has many testimonials from well known academics and politicians attesting to Irelands strong stand on human rights and peace issues.
The book will be launched at the tragedy that happened in Derry during a peaceful protest where british soldiers opened fire on innocent civilians. The opening page is a draft of the Irish constitution that was agreed in 1916. This year is the 100th year of the Irish state.
John went on to say that many people, from the Republics conception, have been fighting for seperation of imperialist asperations and rejecting the pull to war. John points out that there were many communities that worked over the 20 years, of mis-guided British security operations, to slowly move towards greater peace and stability. John also points out that much has been done but there is still a way to go as there are remnants of criminal activities still left from the worst of the “troubles”.
John then went on to say that in so many areas that the governments did not listen to the peoples wishes and that supporting Saudi Arabias war in Yemen, continuing wars in the middle east and the refugee disaster that ensued.

I asked John how he would enlighten the public and make them fully aware of the implications of having a US base of operations and allowing US military access to Irelands airspace. He pointed out that there is a loss of revenue associated with these flights and the claims of the agreement bringing prosperity, were likley false claims.
John thought that the gloal authorities suffered from “Greed, avarice and a grave lack of self respect for life and human dignity”

John also said that another way that might work is to involve groups that are fighting the same problems or in the case of Japan and the Okinawa US base has left a trail of criminality including rapes of local girls. The Japanese contituion is one of peace and similar to ireland so John called out to any Okinawa activist groups to contact him so information and experiences could be shared.
He also said that using the media that would run with the story (there are some but too rare) and publishing this new book as well as a raft of protests, meetings direct actions and good old perserverence to get the word out.

“6 died and more are dying in just the communty of Bayou Labatre” Trisha told us.
In this fourth part of our Gulf disaster expose we talk to Trisha Springstead, who is a health professional who has been gathering health data concerning the BP Gulf Oil disaster in 2010. She has been interviewed by Charles Williams Digges when he was investigating the health and environmental problems that were being reported.
In the early days of the disaster Trisha was shocked because of reports she was recieving from communities around the coast. The Charles Williams Digges article then caused peoples interest to come to Trisha with their stories and Trisha was able to get data that could be used for future reference (her FB community has some 27,000 people including victims). Her main concern was for the victims though and she holds talks to make people aware of toxicity poisoning and its symtoms so local communities can be enabled in dealing with this problem. As well as giving free legal and health advice.

Trisha is involved in a new Documentary on the after effects of the BP Gulf oil disaster that is underway but is seeking crowd sourced funding, to finish it. The Creator of this documentry is Mark manning who also did the “Road to Fallujah”

The evidence that was ignored
Firstly, we should see what evidence has been brought forward to prove that there was a problem with toxicity within these communities. We should mention a report on Chemical Sensitivity that is peer reviewed that was sent to Washington DC to prove a range of symptoms caused by the disaster.
The peer reviewed report was developed by information from activists and Trisha helped with data from her findings. Trisha mentions in the interview that the final report submitted by Jena Soloman did not give the full picture of harm but did concede that harm existed. The link to the report is here;

Symptom variety found in the gulf region
Secondly, we should look at some of the symptoms found by Trisha and her colleagues.
Flesh eating Bacteria, Sore throat, low stamina, visual problems (eyes fogging over), neurological problems such as twitching and drooping of the mouth, Memory issues (brain fog), skin rashes, hair loss, thyroid problems, blood born cancers, Kidney and liver failure, soft tissue cancers, respiratory disorders, Hodkins Lymphoma (link to study that makes the connection between Benzene and HL) and mental health disorders (PTSD etc). Trisha also said that;
“Brown drainage coming out of the ears”
In fact Trisha herself got ill getting sand samples from contaminated beeches and working in contaminated areas. She was followed by the police on one occasion, until she drove passed the state line. We discussed some of this harrasment with Charles Williams Digges and Maureen Duphinee in previous podcasts. Concerning Trishas illness, she said that one symptom, her skin rashes were awful;
“it itched so bad, you wanted to take the skin off”
She said.

Dr Micheal Robichaux claimed a connection with these symptoms and the “Gulf War Syndrome” suffered by soldiers after Gulf War 1.

No treatment for toxicity
As well as the chemical toxicity report being ignored we find that studies and health programmes are not being instituted or are not being run efficiently. This leaves Trisha wondering if the funding and the response strategy to the oil disaster might be biased towards the interests of the BP corporation and not so much in the interests of the victims of the disaster. We discuss this issue on the podcast. Below we look at the evidence that has formed Trishas views on this situation.
Health studies
Trisha has recieved information that points to serious issues with the health response including bias against looking for toxicity in patients and instead they are sent to a Nose Ear and Throat specialist at best instead of blood work being done for toxcicity.
Another case study looks at a lady who went to the doctors and a test was done and Toulene was found. The police were called in and the mother was charged with allowing the children to poison themselves!
“We need to write up these peoples stories”
Trisha said.
Of a 110 million Dollars, 5 million disapeared because of red tape or kick backs, There are no comprehensive air monitoring being done even though there are still wells leaking (ref interview with Scott Porter) and little independent research funding is being made available.

A developing situation is showing an increase in water born disease. Specifically we talk about Vibrio and other oil eating bacteria (that we discussed with Scott Porter also). There was a russian study group (to their surprise) that found out that oil spill booms soaked with a particular bacteria which had only been used in cold climates, was being used in the Gulf without a proper preliminary study on the bacterias impact in a warm water environment. Auburn Scientists Find Tar Balls Are Better Left Alone
AUBURN, Ala.—The April 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and the waves of tar balls deposited on the beaches shortly thereafter prompted the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to produce a tar ball fact sheet. Among the factoids was one stating that those sticky, coin-sized clumps of weathered oil, though unsightly and annoying, are not a human health hazard.
But new research findings out of Auburn University indicate that tar balls are reservoirs for a multitude of bacteria, including at least one pathogen that can cause life-threatening sickness in some humans.

Concerning the Vibrio bacteria, reports have been coming in that humans are being impacted with this bacteria and it is being described as a flesh eating virus. 47 people have been diagnosed with this disease and there have been 13 deaths as a result. There was a small problem with this but it has increased in recent years. It is suspected that the Gulf disaster may have contributed in some ways to the increase in uptake and deaths of vibrio we have seen since 2010 Trisha claims. We discussed various issues that might also have contributed and clarify that these studies should be have been done but were not funded. In fact the funding has gone to many BP biased research projects instead of more in depth studies to try to trace the polution source.

Libbe Halevy has been a survivor of the 3 Mile Island nuclear disaster and found herself strongly drawn to the nuclear disaster after the Japanese nuclear meltdown in Japan at the Fukushima Daichi nuclear site. Since June, the first year of the nuclear disaster in 2011, she has been developing and creating anti nuclear activist news content, largely on her own, that has helped activists fight the memes and arguments of the many pro nuclear bloggers and commenters on the web.
Libbe commented that her main points of encouragement were to document the nuclear industry and its disasters and we discussed the posibilities of activists to use this information to promote activists groups who need crucial data for their petitons and local pressure organisations campaigns etc.
Libbe commented that she believes in solutions based activism.
She has travelled a Rocky road, like many activists, and she gives us a brief insight into this aspect of her life.
Her desire to get correct and substantiated information was mentioned. We discussed how news bloggers should look for credible opposition voices and use information with 2 or 3 sources if possible. She also pointed out that breaking stories needed to be treated carefully and time given to fully observe the real story.
Libbe informed us of her earlier life learning experiences coming to the fore in her new incarnation as a Radio news show host.
We look at the types of journalism that Libbe is invloved with and how that all developed. She discusses her first attempts at news gathering in a more main stream fashion but decided to go with left wing anti nuclear bias as a delivery mechanism for the news after being encouraged via social media.
We do dicuss some issues on nuclear topics and Libbe gives a very passionate description of her views and explains the need for a strong counter position to the massively funded pro nuclear machine.
Libbe is hoping to bring a Broadway style show, concerning nuclear issues in a small US town, to a theatre near you! . Showing another aspect of this incredibly talented lady.

Below you will find a most interesting question and answers session. 
The controversy began at the Foreign Correspondents Club of Japan where the allowed Prof. Toshihide Tsuda MD and PhD to make some claims concerning the stunning rates of cancer being found in childrens thyroids after an extensive study of over 300,000 children after the Fukushima Daichi Nuclear disaster, following the huge Earthquake and resultant Tsunami. Amongst the casualties of this disaster in Japan, were an unknown number of radiological victims.

For some 3 years the Fukushima Medical University has been compiling data but even though the UN rapponteur was asking for evacuation of children from some areas, no one was doing anything with the data to find out if the UN rapponteurs fears were correct or wether the Science Media Centre UK`s “expert” Geraldine Thomas and friends, was correct with her claim of “No Health Effects”?
Following the claims of Prof Toshihide Tsuda, the press and health indutries have remained silent. The real battle ground is being fought on the comments sections of blogs and newspapers throughout the globe! People have questions!.
I was challenged by Sam McGill to ask Tsuda San to answer some questions regarding his claim of;
“I am surprised Tsuda’s study even got published, it’s that bad. It looks possibly to have been a political decision to “get discussion going” as it were. It was accompanied by a piece in the same journal quietly trashing it.”
Of course, this is the only riteous opinion being made and many bloggers feel ill equiped to deal with someone of Sam McGill`s eloquence and knowledge.
Below are the questions from Sam McGill and answers from Prof Toshihide Tsuda in full. Please share parts or all of these questions and answers because it will be unlikely that the Japan Times or similar would be allowed to print this discussion (though I live in hope) owing to the new Japanese Secrets Law that helps to keep the press in their place. Answer to Mr Shaun McGee from Toshide Tsude concerning
issues on the recent thyroid Study in Japan
Q1. Why did he ignore the age profile of tumour sufferers? If the headline rate of tumours were caused by radiation, then it should be the very youngest in the screening programme with tumours. Yet the Fukushima group tumours are concentrated in the highest age group.
A1. Our paper was based on the data within 3 years after the accident (2011-2014). In Chernobyl, age distribution of thyroid cancer cases within 3 years after the accident (1986-1989) was also mainly teenagers (see the below pasted table). You can obtain same data in the URL (http://www.aec.go.jp/jicst/NC/tyoki/bunka5/siryo5/siryo42.htm), which was written in Japanese, but its figures can be read by non-Japanese. The table was created by Professor Shunichi Yamashita (Nagasaki University) using cancer registry in Gomel Voblast in Belarus. Its columes express from 0 to 17 indicate “age in the accident”. And, its rows express from 1985 to 1998 indicate “year at diagnosis of thyroid cancer”. You can find 10 thyroid cancer cases among 13 within 3 years after the accident (1986-1989) were 10 years old and higher age at diagnosis. This age distribution is quite similar to the finding in Fukushima within 3 years after the accident (2011-2014). Furthermore, during 1986-1989 in Chernobyl, any screening program was not conducted at all. Therefore, some thyroid cancer induced by the accident would be detected within one yeas after the accident by screening program in Fukushima.
Q2. When he did his internal comparison, why did he exclude west Fukushima? If West Fukushima is included, the relationship between distance from the plant and rate of tumours seems to disappear.
A2. As everyone knows, most of Fukushima Prefecture was contaminated after March 11, 2011. Since afternoon on March 14, especially, larger and wider contamination occurred. Western least contaminated district was also contaminated especially Aizu-Wakamatsu City and its neighboring towns. These city and towns have highest population density in the district. In other words, the most of population in the district were included in the city and the towns although the district has very wide area. Radioactive plume from the power plant flowed to the city and the towns through the Koriyama City district. But, southeastern district may be relatively avoided by the radioactive plume, which indicated in the below figure. A volcano expert, Professor Hayakawa (Gunma University) made the figure. Q3. Why did he assume a very low latency period for thyroid cancer? His paper assumes a latency period of 4 years, but the literature shows a latency period of between four and thirty years. A longer latency period means a much bigger screening effect. (And evidence from Korea indicates it can be a very large effect).
A3. First, we should share findings on excess thyroid cancer cases around Chernobyl between 1987 and 1989. When assigning 1 year to several ten years as a sensitivity analysis, anyone can notice that significant excess of thyroid cancer cases in Fukushima Prefecture except the northeastern district does not change. Third, what report do you want to indicate as “Evidence from Korea”? Is it the article by Ahn et al. in New England Journal of Medicine in 2014? If so, the finding is among adults who received cancer screenings, not for childhood or adolescents. Furthermore, as the article wrote, “Despite guidelines recommending against evaluation and surgery for tumors less than 0.5 cm in diameter, one quarter of surgical patients now have tumors that fall into this category”, its diagnostic criteria of thyroid screening was quite different from that of the Fukushima screening program. Q4. Why did he ignore the evidence from analyses of tumours that show no signs of the markers of radiogenic thyroid cancer, and most show the markers of regular adult thyroid cancer?
A4. What kinds of markers did you indicate? Even if such marker may be useful to detect “radiogenic thyroid cancer”, when the high relative risks indicated in our paper were observed, I think that the result and the conclusion would not so change.
Q5. Why does he think Gerry Thomas, the head of the Chernobyl Tissue Bank, described his study as “not a good study to base opinions on”?
A5. I do not know Dr Gerry Thomas. May be, he is not an epidemiologist because he is a head of the Tissue Bank. If he is not an epidemiologist, he cannot validly evaluate an epidemiological study written by us.

Some shocking facts are in this interview. Severe negligence by BP and their representatives to cover up the issue of toxicity for workers and locals due to the spill and clean up.
“bleeding while urinating!” is a qoute from one of her testimonial posts.
She describes the attempts to get honest research out to the media and scientists that are not subject to the restrictions that comes with corporate sponsored research from the likes of BP. The US CDC health department did not do their jobs to uncover toxicity damage to humans.
“Vibrio the flesh eating virus is appearing and this has been connected to the tar balls.”
Maureen gives us a quick breakdown of some of the strategy that the governments and corporations employed to quell dissent from the local communities effected. We draw some parallels with the Shell Oil controversy in Mayo Ireland and the TEPCO nuclear accident at Fukushima Daichi in Japan. We discuss how BP hired Ogilvey and Maher “managed” the media and PR services as well as the security and surveillance of the victims of the oil spill.

Dolphins were aborted and the took them away from public site. The bodies are still not being worked on and the government put a gag order on research. Then BP bought the research on the Spill effects.Compensation “was pennies on the dollar” only 20 percent of dolphins in the gulf are giving birth.

“Oh yes” he says in a rather cool tone as one who is well used to the term.
Should we support our Scientists even if we dont always agree with them?
Those Scientist that are qualified to bring us the data especially in the field of Marine Biology where there are maybe only 5 qualified scientists. So they need our support as much as we need them to bring out the facts. To attack these scientists is not constructive or productive. Herve sees it as our duty to reach out to these Scientists and work hand in hand with them.
Do you see it as our role as bloggers to act as a lobby?
We have to act on their individual conscionsciousness. they are human beings like us and one can wake them up. It has happened many time in the past.
How do you think the scientists could have responded in relation to Dana Durnford?
When you threaten them with violence and one may expect something coming back. Some of these bloggers have been threatening them and their families for a long time. they probably could no longer ignore it.
Herve continues with a list of names of Scientists who have been insulted by Dana Durnford and Kevin Blanch. Names like Dr Helen Caldicott, Arnie Gunderson, Chris Busby, Ken Westler and Tim Mousseau. Herve continues;
How can one insult Tim Mousseau? He works for us! He is bringing us the proof of the contamination!
Herve explains that Kevin Blanch is smarter because he doesn’t name names, where Dana is very pointed with his threats.
Jimmy joins in stating that we need to careful about attacking a race or individual. He states there is a lesson also to be learned from the Dana case, in that it can be used as an example of why one should be careful with our language to others. Jimmy and Shaun make some comparisons with the Chris Spivey case where Chris found himself in a similar situation concerning the Lee Rigby case.
Herve then says Dana’s work is not entirely non-constructive. Herve says Dana has awoken an interest in people concerning the Fukushima disaster, but that he didn’t like his sensationalist and threatening behaviour. Herve explains; that being the father of a potential Fukushima victim he doesn’t like the pro-nuclear shills (some names mentioned) but he also doesn’t like the sensationalist! The truth he believes is the only way to help the people affected by these disasters and help the anti-nuclear cause.
Herve says one has to view this both ways. First thing a person does when they have loved ones in a disaster zone after hearing sensationalist videos or articles is the panic involved, ringing contacts to see if there are any radiation spikes and ringing family to check with family if they are ok, so sensationalist posts can actually be heartbreaking.
Herve explains how YouTube is the worst culprit because lots of sensationalist posts are popping up all the time but that any comment dis-proving the posted video are removed and he thinks this is dangerous.
Herve also says not everybody on Facebook or such places is a critical thinker and some may be unstable and some of these sensationalist posts could be dangerous for some people.
Shaun follows on by saying Dana is not really part, or head of the Anti-Nuclear movement and has insulted most the the Anti-Nuclear movement at times..
Herve then explains that Kevin and Dana are making money out of their blogging. That they get funding through donation. Herve believes they are milking the people.
Shaun surmises Dana shouldn’t go to prison for 10 years but will probably be told not to mention 3 people with some basic restrictions.
Herve explains some folk are into this from an Anti-Nuclear view. Some are into it as a pastime, but some people are into it to make money and sensationalist posts brings in high traffic. The problem is how can these people keep impartiality when the money is affecting their impartiality to do the news.
Herve rounds up with the following;
“When it comes to the Nuclear stick to the facts. We have a responsibility to stick to the fact to stick to the truth for the victims and the future victims. There is no place for imagination or ego’s. Facts are being hidden from us and we need to work hard to bring those facts out.”

With some 18,000 subscribers Dana has been touted as a “leader” of the anti nuclear movement but as Fukushima 311 Watchdogs on Facebook gets some 11,000 subscribers, the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament in the UK has some 30,000 members and this does not include a recent surge in membership from Scotland, Wales and England due to the promotion of no nuclear by The extremely popular Jeremy Corbin. I also do not include the tens of thousands Taiwanese activists, Indian activists, Japanese activists etc etc who visit many of the more moderate anti nuclear web pages and social media formats.
Dana remembered
Dana Durnsford occupies a small part of the nuclear debate. When his You Tube channel began streaming his show and saying that the west coast of Canada was a dead zone, to say the least I was a bit concerned! I was on the Rainbow Warriors on Facebook and we crowd sourced an investigation with some Canadian colleagues (including First Nations) to find out what the situation was. We quickly discovered over a couple of days that the coast was still the same as it was in previous years. This was testimony from witnesses that I have grown to trust so I was distrustful as to Danas Claims but decided to see what evidence he could supply.
Over the coming months he sought Funding for a boat and camera equipment but no radiation detectors of any sort. Further videos of people showing a thriving environment on You Tube made me doubt further the veracity of his claims. Also, his aggressive stance and lack of multiple sources for news weakened my interest and I quickly moved on.
A right to speak
My general attitude to Dana was that he was providing a service to those that thought that the effects from Fukushima were dire. Of course there are many viewpoints to the ultimate effects from the Fukushima Daichi nuclear disaster in march 2011.
My view was that there is room for debate on this issue. I also thought that the debatably entertaining way that Dana discusses nuclear matters might encourage people to learn more on the nuclear issue so the show had a more serious educational aspect to it (even though some of the science and posits might be questioned).
Sentenced to what?
So, to the issue of what might happen to Dana? The use of harassment is a thorny issue on social media. In the UK Chris Spivey was recently charged for a similar style of blogging. Leaving aside the issues on free speech for the moment I will quickly describe his present situation. 
Chris has a short suspended prison sentence hanging over him and is under instruction to not have on his website any information related to the court case (Lee Rigby) nor can he discuss this news publicly. Chris has continued his blogging as normal, still using an aggressive style but with some sensible caution. So Dana should take heart. My co host Jimmy Hagan contacted Chris Spivey for a statement and he said that if it is a first offence a prison sentence is unlikely and a suspended sentence with blogging restrictions would apply.
Of course the Pro nuclear media is trying to milk this for everything it is worth but we need to bear in mind that Dana`s views only represent a small fraction of the worlds anti nuclear campaigners. In the diverse world-wide web there is room for many opinions and views.
What learning can we all take from this?
There is an important point to be had here for bloggers more generally and that is the need for caution considering that harassment cases are an effective tool for corporate and government interests and we as bloggers should be mindful to avoid such pitfalls. We should be prepared to adapt to this sort of pressure on our freedom of speech. The main points we have to raise do not include personal attacks but science based evidence and personal testimonials and independent science research where science research is being suppressed.

In hour 3 of the show and following last weeks interview with fellow protester Gerry Bourke we have an exclusive interview with protester Liam Heffernan who was in the Irish courts last week to win a landslide victory against Shell Oil and their criminal actions against protesters. Tony Rochford the Irish Hunger striker currently refusing fluids!
The Third Part of the show looks at the various activist news centered in Ireland with amazing testimonies from activist regarding a wide range of issues. We wish to bring to your attention the terrible case of the Irish activist who has gone on hunger strike and is refusing water still after 3 days to highlight health problems with building practises in Ireland, that he has been campaigning against. A phone call from a callous government minister to the wife of Tony Rochford said that he;
“hoped that Mr Rochford would stop the hunger strike”
…. instead of addressing his concerns in any way.
