VIDEO: Plutonium probably reached critical mass n Fukushima reactor No 3

Busby: I think plutonium probably reached critical mass at Reactor 3 which caused explosion (VIDEO)  September 6th, 2012 By ENENews Nuked Radio Special: Busby Speaks September 4, 2012
Dr. Chris Busby: I think what happened originally was it got hot enough to volatilize the plutonium. See, in these reactors there’s always plutonium. In Reactor 3, there was plutonium they put in there in the first place.

And plutonium has a lower boiling point than uranium.

So in principal if you heat the thing high enough, the plutonium comes off first, like the fractional distillation of oil.

So as the plutonium comes off, it will then condense in the cooler part of whatever it is coming off into, the pressure vessel I guess… and you only need about 9 kg of plutonium to have critical mass, so that could then explode and blow everything up in the air.

I think that is probably what happened at Reactor 3……  http://enenews.com/busby-plutonium-reached-critical-mass-reactor-3-caused-explosion-video

AUDIO: Fukushima deposited more radioactive material than Chernobyl did

Nuclear Expert Back From Japan: Fukushima deposited a lot more radioactive material than Chernobyl, except for immediate area around
reactors (AUDIO)
http://enenews.com/listen-expert-back-from-japan-fukushima-deposited-a-lot-more-radioactive-material-than-chernobyl-except-for-immediate-area-around-reactors-audio  September 5th, 2012  Title: Clean Energy View: Fukushima’s History, Recovery & Future Source: The Organic View
Date: June 19, 2012
Energy expert, Thomas S. Drolet, President of Drolet and Associates
Energy Services, Inc. recently visited Fukushima and was also at the
site shortly after the disaster occurred to assist with the recovery
process. Mr. Drolet has also been to Chernobyl and is a highly sought
after speaker on the subject of nuclear energy. Drolet: The land to
the northwest of Chernobyl Unit 4 was severely contaminated in
comparison to anything that happened at Fukushima Daiichi, and then
was less and less.

The only good news I can say about Chernobyl is the initial blast was
so strong and so powerful that a lot of it went up into the air, into
the stratosphere almost, and got carried by the jet stream around the
globe.

So the dispersion was far greater in distance, and the amount
deposited — except for the immediate area, say a 20 mile area around
Chernobyl — was a lot less.

So its just the way the vagaries of the explosion and the wind were at the time.

Video: VIMEO international conference on Chernobyl radiation

Nuclear Controversies http://vimeo.com/33724891  by  PLUS   by Wladimir Tchertkoff, 51min, 2004 In 1995, the Director General of WHO Dr. Hiroshi Nakajima, tried to inform on Chernobyl by organizing in Geneva an international conference with 700 experts and physicians. This tentative was blocked. The International Agency for Atomic Energy blocked the proceedings, which were never published. The truth on the consequences of Chernobyl would have been a disaster for the promotion of the atomic industry.

This film shows the discussions at the following WHO- congress in Kiev in 2001, that lead to the fatal disregarding of internal radiation consequences throughout the nuclear world.

Youtube: nuclear waste dump for Tochigi, Japan

NHK – Japan proposes radioactive disposal site in Tochigi  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Whe6frtDdo  Sep 3, 2012 by  NHK World News —- The Japanese government has proposed a site in Tochigi Prefecture, north of Tokyo, to dispose of radioactive waste from the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi plant. It is the first time the central government has made such a proposal to a prefectural government.

Senior Vice Environment Minister Katsuhiko Yokomitsu made the proposal to Tochigi Governor Tomikazu Fukuda on Monday.

The central government is responsible for disposing of more than 42,000 tons of radioactive ash and mud in 9 prefectures. Levels of Cesium in the waste are above the government standard of 8,000 becquerels per kilogram.

Tochigi Prefecture is already temporarily storing about 9,000 tons of radioactive waste at sewage treatment and other facilities.

The Environment Ministry says a 4-hectare national forest in Tochigi’s Yaita City is large enough for the purpose and far enough from the closest residential area and water source.
The ministry will brief people living near the site on the need and safety of the planned facility.

The true scale of Chernobyl’s radioactive disaster

Chernobyl, Insight from the Inside by Vladimir M. Chernousenko,  Scientific Director of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences  Institute of Physics in Kiev’s Task Force for the Rectification of the Consequences of the Chernobyl Accident

Foreward, pp. XVI-XVII, From the Publisher:

The author’s chief motivation for writing this book is that he considers it vitally important that the world should be told the unvarnished truth about the scale and consequences of the disaster, the legacy of which will remain with us for many generations. He presents realistic estimates and new unpublished hard data from various reliable sources about the radiation pollution caused by the accident. The figures prove to be much higher than anyone dared assume up to now. We are confronted with horrendous numbers regarding the radiation pollution of the soil and aquifers in the Soviet Union. On the basis of these data, it is estimated that a territory of a least 100,000 km^2 is so polluted as to be uninhabitable. There are even estimates of an amount three times as high.

The author’s greatest concern is the well-being of the people still living in this huge territory. Many of those who are still living in the polluted areas want to leave, but the problems posed by local administration and bureaucracy do not allow them to do so. For lack of precedence, the effects on their health in the long-term can only be guessed at, at the present time. But those effects are already beginning to become evident. The health statistics included in this book are a matter of serious concern and urgently call for further investigations. Continue reading

[…]Gundersen: The big problem is going to be — Have these things been distorted by the earthquake or heat during the process, or by rubble falling on them. They may not be able to pull them. They may get on them and try to pull them and try to lift and they’ll be jammed. Then that’s another problem. We’ll see as time develops. Right now [Daini’s] plants are not safe, so we use emergency power supplies.

Unfortunately they refuse to supply fuel.

We said, “We supply fuel then.” Then they said we cannot let you do so…

[Daini] doesn’t have water. We don’t have enough water to decontaminate exposed people…

We prepare emergency rooms for Unit 4 of [Daini] and people from [Daiichi].

We prepare emergency rooms for each. So Head Office, please think separately. That’s all.

Youtube: flaws in Sweden’s nuclear waste plan

Chris Busby: the Forsmark nuclear waste Repository plan  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oliHTaHhDYc&feature=shareThe future of nuclear energy depends on the industry finding somewhere to put the high level waste. This is radioactive for millions of years and must be isolated from the environment. The hitherto intractable problem was apparently solved by the Swedish nuclear industry who proposed a plan to encapsulate it in copper canisters and bury it in tunnels 500m underneath the Baltic sea at Forsmark.

The full environmental impact report was released last year; the government requirements are that the company SKB show that the waste will not emerge from the canisters between 100,000 years and 1 million years.

After studying the report in detail it became clear that the design was flawed because it did not include consideration of the Helium gas produced from the alpha emitters. The volume of gas in each canister would cause it to explode long before 100,000 years resulting in the contamination of the Baltic Sea by the equivalent of 2000 Chernobyl accidents. Back to the drawing Board guys!
