The MoD’s nuclear safety watchdog has warned it can no longer ensure Trident warheads and nuclear submarines “remain safe”. British MPs cast doubt on nuclear power plans
The MPs’ report also cast doubt on current plans to make sure there is a deep hole for disposing of radioactive waste within 110 years. Rising financial problems face nuclear industry in UK
Full insurance cover for the consequences of nuclear accidents is generally impossible to obtain because of the potential liabilities. The government said it might be prepared to provide reinsurance under these circumstances.

UK Green Investment Bank money going more to bankers’ bonuses, than to renewables
“I was astonished when a UK Lib Dem minister admitted that money from the fossil fuel levy will set up a bank that could see some of the bankers’ bonuses that are a matter of some debate at the moment…Scotland has a real opportunity to lead the renewables revolution and releasing this money to create green jobs rather than bankers’ bonuses would help advance that cause.”
