Climate science helps support nuclear sector
The Met Office and the Office for Nuclear Regulation have agreed to work
together on meteorological and climate services to support nuclear safety
and emergency preparedness. The agreement covers areas such as extreme
weather and climate projection analysis. It will also provide training
between both agencies and expert advice for the ONR’s assessments. The
organisations say it will also help ensure timely science-based
decision-making within the country’s nuclear sector that protects public
safety and strengthen national resilience.
