Tersus Consultancy Services to clear asbestos at Dounreay
Tersus Consultancy Services, part of Mitie subsidiary Marlowe
Environmental Services, has secured an 18-month contract worth £1 million
with Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS) at the Dounreay site in Caithness,
Scotland. The deal encompasses specialist asbestos surveying, air
monitoring and independent inspection services to support decommissioning
work at the former nuclear research and power site on Scotland’s north
coast, the country’s largest nuclear clean-up and demolition project.
Tersus will carry out services to support the removal of
asbestos-containing materials and monitor working conditions. Its
inspections will also help verify that areas have been cleared safely
before they are certified as clear for reoccupation.
