Belgian nuclear power plant negotiations extended
WNN 5 November 2026
The Belgian state, Engie and Electrabel have agreed to postpone to 12 December the target date for the conclusion of the heads of terms for the potential acquisition of Belgium’s seven nuclear power reactors by the state…….
The two sides had aimed to conclude the heads of terms by 1 October. However, they subsequently agreed to postpone to 4 November the target date “to allow the parties to finalise their ongoing analyses and discussions”.
……..significant differences remain, particularly regarding the valuation of the transaction, and the parties wish to take the necessary time to try to reconcile their positions……..
