New nuclear disaster plans sent to thousands of homes in Plymouth
![]() More than 19,000 homes in the area are set to receive an updated information leaflet this week, Plymouth Herald, Plymouth Live UK 28June 20 New nuclear safety advice is being issued to residents living in the proximity of Devonport Dockyard.Plymouth City Council is sending out updated information of important advice to all the homes and businesses which fall within the detailed emergency planning zone. Devonport dockyard is full of toxic material, substances and machinery and so there is in theory a chance – albeit a very, very small one – of a major malfunction leading to deadly radioactive fallout……
If a nuclear emergency does occur, residents and members of the public could be exposed to gamma and beta radiation.
