Damaged fuel rod containers, suspicious death at Fukushima nuclear plant

exclamation-SmVice: ‘Suspicious’ death at Fukushima plant — Officials: Damaged nuclear fuel containers found in Unit 3 pool after removal of massive piece of debris — “High radioactivity prevented workers from carrying out the removal smoothly” — Concern about “new fuel failure” (PHOTOS & VIDEO)

NHK, Aug 4, 2015 (emphasis added): Fuel rod casings found damaged by debris… workers have found damaged fuel rod containers after removing a device that had fallen on them during the 2011 disaster. They’re now checking whether the damage will affect their plan to remove fuel from the pool. A 20-ton device for moving fuel rods in and out of the pool on the building’s top floor was removed on Sunday… High radioactivity prevented workers from carrying out the removal smoothly… Workers found that the metal casings of 4 assemblies had been distorted and have twisted handles. This is evident in images released by the operator… The utility is checking for other damage and studying how to remove the distorted casings from the pool.

TEPCO (pdf), Aug 4, 2015: Unit 3 Spent Fuel Pool… we found bent handles of 4 nuclear fuel assemblies located under the Fuel Handling Machine which was removed on August 2nd… there is no indication ofnew fuel failure by the removal… In the future, when discussing fuel removal, we will consider how to deal with the bent handles of nuclear fuel assemblies.

Vice News, Aug 4, 2015: A 30 year-old man died this weekend as he worked on decommissioning Japan’s Fukushima nuclear plant… It is not yet known whether the man’s death was due to radiation exposure, and an autopsy is pending… In a statement released Monday, [Tepco] said that the man had been taken to the emergency room after complaining that he wasn’t feeling well. “His death was confirmed early in the afternoon,” Tepco said. Isabelle Dublineau, the head of the experimental radiotoxicology laboratory for France’s Institute for Radiological Protection and Nuclear Safety (IRSN), said… it was “too early” to comment on the death… While the latest death has already been branded suspicious in the media, Tepco has so far denied that any of the deaths are related to radiation exposure… The worker who died over the weekend was working… on the construction of the “ice wall”…

Fukushima; Reactors And/Or SFP’s In #5 And #6 Melted Down – Total of 7 Melt Down’s, Melt Outs, Nuclear Explosions A Green Road Blogspot, 12 July 15,

…………The evidence consists of;

  1. massive amounts of hydrogen/tritium gas released out of holes cut in the buildings
  2. high levels of cesium in the drains coming from 5 and 6
  3. radioactive water in the basements, hauled away by US military barge
  4. white smoke from both buildings
  5. melted fuel in pipe picture
  6. broken pipes in all buildings
  7. report of melted down fuel
  8. report of radioactive xenon gas releases months after disaster

Gov’t model shows Fukushima radioactive gas near Tokyo skyrocketed to 10,000,000,000 times normal levels soon after 3/11 – “Very high concentrations” recorded at all monitoring posts in northern hemisphere (VIDEO)

Radioactivity in the drains, in the gas/air and in the water in the basements comes from melting down fuel rods, not normal operations from a shut down and cooled off reactor and spent fuel pools, wouldn’t you agree?

And where did all of that highly radioactive water from the basements of the #5 and #6 buildings go, by the way, in that US supplied barge? Where did the high level radiation in the water come from?  Where did that melted fuel in the pipe go?

In all of the other buildings, the high level radiation in the basements comes from broken reactors with melted down fuel in them. Certainly radioactive water does not come from the tsunami, because the tsunami wave was clean, pure ocean water. And pray tell TEPCO, what was the radiation level in that water,  from buildings 5 and 6, hmmmmmm?

Someone who is willing to tell the truth would of course also confirm for certain whether a meltdown happened in #5 and #6, due to busted up pipes from an earthquake and then the tsunami hitting and destroying whatever was left.
Of course, TEPCO still denies that the earthquake did any damage anywhere on the Fukushima site. Add that lie to the long list of TEPCO inspired lies as well… The problem is that no one is willing to talk about what REALLY happened, and that is a larger problem at Fukushima, which will make the problems that they are facing there even worse than if they just told the truth and dealt with what is a very large problem, never faced by any country in the history of human kind. The cover up and trying to maintain the lies just makes the situation 1,000 times worse.
IAEA, WHO, NRC And Others; A Web Of Deception? via @AGreenRoad
It seems the nuclear industry in general is incapable of telling the truth, and the regulator; (IAEA) is acting more like a fox guarding the henhouse. They want TEPCO to dump all of the water onsite into the ocean.

Problems ahead, if Japan restarts mothballed nuclear reactors

Japan Heads Toward Nuclear Unknown With Post-Fukushima Restarts, Bloomberg by   August 6, 2015 Japan is about to do something that’s never been done before: Restart a fleet of mothballed nuclear reactors.

The first reactor to meet new safety standards could come online as early as next week. Japan is reviving its nuclear industry four years after all its plants were shut for safety checks following the earthquake and tsunami that wrecked the Fukushima Dai-Ichi station north of Tokyo, causing radiation leaks that forced the evacuation of 160,000 people.

Mothballed reactors have been turned back on in other parts of the world, though not on this scale — 25 of Japan’s 43 reactors have applied for restart permits. One lesson learned elsewhere is that the process rarely goes smoothly. Of 14 reactors that resumed operations after four years offline, all had emergency shutdowns and technical failures, according to data from the World Nuclear Association, an industry group.

“If reactors have been offline for a long time, there can be issues with long-dormant equipment and with ‘rusty’ operators,” Allison Macfarlane, a former chairman of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, said by e-mail.

In Sweden, E.ON Sverige AB closed the No. 1 unit at its Oskarshamn plant in 1992 and restarted it in 1996. It had six emergency shutdowns in the following year and a refueling that should have taken 38 days lasted more than four months after cracks were found in equipment……..The challenges facing the NRA are “absolutely unique worldwide,” said John Large, chief executive at Large & Associates, a London-based engineering consultant to the nuclear industry. “You have had the whole nation’s fleet of nuclear power plants closed down for four years.”

As problems can arise with long-dormant reactors, the NRA “should be testing all the equipment as well as the operator beforehand in preparation,” Macfarlane of the U.S. said by e-mail. …….

How radioactive isotopes impact on the human body

Lies, damn lies, and radiation health, A Prosperous Way Down by Mary Logan Health impacts of unseen dangers

Each isotope has different rates of biomagnification and then uptake and also different impacts in the body. Strontium follows calcium pathways in the body, so it settles in bone marrow, replacing structure and weakening bones and teeth, and causing leukemia.Cesium follows potassium pathways, lodging in muscle such as the heart. Many other isotopes act in other damaging ways in the body.

The dangers are probably still  small for most foods, but hazards are tenfold to a hundredfold for children, infants, and fetuses, who have the fastest rates of mitosis and development. Rapidly dividing cells in the young are most sensitive in any organism. Similarly, organs with rapidly dividing cells are affected (bone marrow, digestive tract, skin).  So risk avoidance is most important for the young.

Some of the list of long-term impacts for human health include the following:

  • Circulatory damage (high blood pressure, rhythm disturbances, MI, stroke, cardiomyopathies, rhythm disturbances artery spasm, especially during cardiac stress such as temperature extremes, physical/emotional stress) (Bandazhevsky, 2001)
  • Hematologic problems (leukemias especially)
  • Endocrine problems (especially Hypothyroidism, thyroid nodules/Cancer, and Diabetes)
  • Immune system
  • Uro-genital system
  • Musculoskeletal system
  • Dental problems as cesium replaces calcium in teeth and bones
  • Central nervous system and psyche
  • The eye (cataracts and retinopathies)
  • Increase in congenital malformations
  • Increase in cancers
  • Accelerated aging
  • Increased frequency of mutations
  • Fertility problems and Change in secondary sex ratio (Yablokov, 2012)
  • Because exposure to radiation is invisible and difficult to detect, it is far under-represented as risk factor for disease. Causes of mortality for radiation exposure are difficult to track beyond the obviously linked leukemias and cancer. Manmade radiation from above-ground testing beginning in the 1950s has been added to by military depleted uranium from expanding use in the Middle East and expanding failures in the 435 nuclear power plants (NPPs) around the world, along with the reprocessing plants. Radiation is often ignored as a reason for immunosuppression, various cancers, and perhaps even endocrine dysfunction, especially thyroid. Because radiation impacts have not been measured in the general population, radiation’s contribution to cancers and other diseases go unnoticed. Women are more vulnerable than men, and children are at least ten to perhaps hundreds of times as vulnerable as adults, because of the rapid mitosis of their cells as they grow. Fetuses are even more vulnerable…..

USA government makes rules on ionising radiation in water more lax

water-radiationFlag-USAEPA raises permissible levels of radiation in drinking water  The White House has given final approval for dramatically raising permissible radioactive levels in drinking water and soil following “radiological incidents,” such as nuclear power-plant accidents and dirty bombs. The final version, slated for Federal Register publication as soon as today, is a win for the nuclear industry which seeks what its proponents call a “new normal” for radiation exposure among the U.S population, according Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER).

Issued by the Environmental Protection Agency, the radiation guides (called Protective Action Guides or PAGs) allow cleanup many times more lax than anything EPA has ever before accepted. These guides govern evacuations, shelter-in-place orders, food restrictions and other actions following a wide range of “radiological emergencies.” The Obama administration blocked a version of these PAGs from going into effect during its first days in office. The version given approval late last Friday is substantially similar to those proposed under Bush but duck some of the most controversial aspects: Continue reading

Medical science’s blind spot about the causes of cancer, especially about ionising radiation

These days, our science is often directed by funding, and funding increasingly is directed by large corporations whose incentives are to increase profit. This research emphasis leads to a focus on tertiary treatment in high-tech healthcare centers, while blind spots develop about the causes of illness, especially environmental ones, including PCBs, heavy metals, radiation, and pesticides.

Lies, damn lies, and radiation health, A Prosperous Way Down by Mary Logan  2013,Recent news about Hanford leaks, a flurry of news surrounding the two-year anniversary of Fukushima, and today’s news about breast cancer rates in the US center my thoughts on blind spots in health research. I will use ionizing radiation again as an illustration of environmental linkages to disease, beginning with the trigger for this post, which was a new World Health Organization (WHO) report. Previous posts about nuclear hazards are linked here and here.

This week, the WHO published a preemptive report on Fukushima, only two years after the disaster. The WHO concluded that “for the general population inside and outside of Japan, the predicted risks are low and no observable increases in cancer rates above baseline rates are anticipated.” This conclusion is from the same organization that has been muzzled on the topic of ionizing radiation contamination of our environment since 1959, when they agreed to misinform the public in subordination to the global nuclear governing body, the IAEA, to protect civil and military nuclear interests.  If you believe that Fukushima has not increased background risk and there will be no increases in cancer rates, I have a bridge to sell you. Mark Twain’s maxim about lies, damn lies, and statistics can be applied here. The point of this post is to examine western medicine’s epistemology of disease, specifically examining how we select the risk factors that are involved in cancer and other diseases.

Epistemology is the study of the nature and scope of knowledge. Our society lacks a broad understanding of how ionizing radiation behaves once it is accidentally released into the environment. There are two main reasons for this. Bednarz (2010) describes Mitroff and Silvers’ discussion of Type 3 errors, where we unintentionally solve the wrong problems through our narrow worldview and reductionist focus in science, and Type 4 errors, where we intentionally solve the wrong problems, because we are pursuing goals such as profit that subverts the science. In our western system of medical research, we commit both Type 3 and Type 4 errors as a result of our narrow worldview and our economic mandate for profit and growth. These type 3 and 4 errors result in blind spots, especially regarding environmental linkages to disease.

In another medical report this week, a new epidemiological study of breast cancer reports increasing rates of breast cancer in young women (Johnson, Chien, & Bleyer, 2013). The pattern of increased incidence in younger patients would be compatible with the epidemiology of radiation-caused cancers, which are more common in the young who have faster cell division/turnover. The increased incidence could also be compatible with many other accumulating environmental toxins.

“The number of American women ages 25 to 39 diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer — which has already spread to other organs by the time it’s found — rose about 3.5% a year from 2000 to 2009, according to a study in today’s Journal of the American Medical Association. The trend began in the 1970s, although the most rapid increases occurred in about the last decade, the study says. The study doesn’t provide any clues about what might be driving the increase, says study author Rebecca Johnson, a pediatric and adolescent oncologist at Seattle Children’s Hospital. . . .

The number of women in this age range diagnosed with advanced disease rose from about 250 a year in 1976 to about 850 a year in 2009, Johnson says. The largest increases were in the youngest women, from ages 25 to 34, the study says. There were also slight increases in metastatic diagnoses among women ages 40 to 54, but no increase in older women” (USA Today, 2/27/13).

Western medicine’s emphasis on treatment and pharmaceuticals, with abandonment of science that is focused on prevention and risk factors in fields such as epidemiology, public health, and environmental medicine points to reductionist science and the influence of money in directing the focus of research. Recently, Dr. Susan Love said that  “. . . her experience [of a recent diagnosis of acute myelogenous leukemia] has emboldened her in her quest to focus on the causes of disease rather than new drugs to treat it.” This aha! moment from a well-known breast cancer researcher illustrates our blind focus on research oriented towards treatment with increasingly costly drugs that may not cure. In Love’s case, her leukemia is even more likely to be attributable to radiation exposure than other diseases. Strontium-90 is a bone-seeker, playing havoc with bone marrow. Should we be focusing on and funding genetic testing and treatment as the future of medicine, or should we be widening our view to encompass better science about preventive care and attention to burgeoning environmental risk factors? Especially since the cost of healthcare in America is now at 18% of GDP, and rising without brakes.

Every year, thousands of Hiroshima survivors treated for radiation-induced illnesses

Hiroshima nuclear bomb 70th anniversary: New research shows thousands of survivors treated every year August 6, 2015  Reporter

“…….New Red Cross data released on Thursday shows that even 70 years after the atomic blasts, Japanese hospitals treat thousands of survivors each year, mostly for cancer which has caused two-thirds of deaths. In the past 12 months, the Red Cross hospitals treated nearly 11,000 survivors.

The full impact of the blast on the survivors and their children who are now reaching 50 years of age, is still not fully known, Dr Masao Tomonaga, the director of the Japanese Red Cross Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Hospital and a survivor told Fairfax Media this week.

As well as suffering higher rates of cancer, new research by the Red Cross hospitals showed survivors who had lived close to the epicentres were also 1.5 times more likely to suffer from heart attacks and angina.

“I couldn’t imagine (these results) before we started this research some 65 years ago (when the hospitals were built.) This means atomic bomb radiation is a life-long effect, with evidence of a life-long susceptibility to cancers, leukaemia and heart attacks,” Dr Tomonaga said.

Of the 16,000 nuclear weapons held today, 1800 are launch ready and any one would make Little Boy or Fat Man “look tiny” and wipe out a city like Sydney, said Robert Tickner, the CEO of the Australian Red Cross. No country or medical service could handle the immediate or long-term impacts, including the millions who would go hungry, Red Cross research has found.

Mr Tickner is calling on Australians and their leaders to support a ban on nuclear weapons for humanitarian reasons.

The author Junko Morimoto drawing as a young girl near what became the Hiroshima Peace Memorial.Photo: Junko Morimoto

“If the world has moved on biological and chemical weapons as illegal weapons of war, if we have moved on clusters, landmines and had conventions to tackle those to deal with them as a weapon of war, what madness is it that we have not taken a similar stand on nuclear weapons. They are the standout greatest threat to the planet,” he said.

Around 113 countries have now signed the Austrian Pledge to prohibit and eliminate nuclear weapons because of their unacceptable humanitarian consequences. The federal government hasn’t signed, but the ALP ‘s new party platform, amended at last month’s conference, agrees to “prohibiting and eliminating nuclear weapons is a humanitarian imperative.”…..

Scary part of Fukushima is the sheer epic scale of this mega nuclear disaster

Fukushima; Reactors And/Or SFP’s In #5 And #6 Melted Down – Total of 7 Melt Down’s, Melt Outs, Nuclear Explosions A Green Road Blogspot, 12 July 15, “………CONCLUSION

The scary part of Fukushima is the sheer epic scale of this mega nuclear disaster. Let’s total up the melt out’s, melt downs and nuclear explosions…..

Building 1 – melted out
Building 2 – melted out

Building 3 – melted out and exploded
Building 4 – melted out from at least the equipment pool
Building 5 – melted down
Building 6 – melted down

Total;  6 or more melt downs or melt outs at Fukushima Daichi, plus 1 nuclear criticality explosion in Building #3.
Fukushima was a mega nuclear disaster sledge hammer wake up call for humanity. If this does not wake up people, nothing will, short of a Carrington Event and then it will be too late.
Super Solar Storm To Hit Earth – ‘Carrington Effect’; 400 Nuke Plants Will Melt Down/Explode; via @AGreenRoad
What will it take to wake up humanity? When will everyone realize that this is NOT the way into a bright, healthy, happy, joy filled future? What will it take to convince nations, states and individuals that nuclear anything is nothing more than a dead ender future, with only suffering, disease and death at the end of it?
Humanity has a choice. The global village can all take massive action and move in the direction of a sustainable future that works for 7 future generations, via learning about and using the Science Of Sustainable Health. Or  everyone in the global village can die by committing global suicide via nuclear technology, which is a dead ender.
The future of humanity is very bright, and that hopeful future is our birthright. But we can throw our birthright away, because we do have free will and choice.

TEPCO exploits homeless, mentally disabled men, in Fukushima nuclear clean-up

fukushima-workersTV: Mentally disabled are working at Fukushima Daiichi, says journalist — Many men forced to go to plant — Homeless treated like ‘disposable people’(VIDEO)

RT News, Nov. 20, 2013: Homeless men employed cleaning up the stricken Fukushima nuclear plant, including those brought in by Japan’s yakuza gangsters, were not aware of the health risks they were taking and say their bosses treated them like “disposable people.” […] While some workers voluntarily agreed to take jobs on the nuclear clean-up project, many others simply didn’t have a choice […] many of the workers were brought into the nuclear plant by Japan’s organized crime syndicates, the yakuza. […] Although a special task force to keep organized crime out of the nuclear clean-up project has been set up, investigators say they need first-hand reports from those forced to work by the yakuza […]

Anonymous former Fukushima worker: We were given no insurance for health risks, no radiation meters even. We were treated like nothing, like disposable people — promised things, and then kicked us out when we received a large radiation dose.

Tomohiko Suzuki, journalist who worked at Fukushima plant
: The government called Tepco to take urgent action, Tepco relayed it to subcontractors — and they, eventually, as they had a shortage of available workers, called the Yakuza for help. […] They were given very general information about radiation and most were not even given radiation meters. They could have exposed themselves to large doses without even knowing it. Even the so-called Fukushima 50 […] at least three of them were enrolled by the yakuza.

Aleksey Yaroshevsky, RT: There are 25% more openings for jobs at Fukushima plant than applicants, according to government data. Gaps filled, says Suzuki, by the homeless, the desperately unemployed and even those with mental disabilities.

Illusion of rational choice, in Czech government’s plans for nuclear power

The Czech Nuclear Illusion  ČEŠTINA  29. Jul. 2015 by Martin Sedlák   In the first week of June the Czech government adopted an action plan that is supposed to lead to the construction of four new reactors in the country—first in Dukovany and then in Temelín. The government’s decision, however, is not the product of a rational political debate; it is the result of the long-term erosion of responsible governing. Therefore, the Czech Republic can serve as a textbook case of how decisions about the future of energy should not be made.

An Open-Ended Nuclear Action Plan

The National Action Plan for the Development of Nuclear Energy was drafted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT) along with the Ministry of Finance (MF). It is based on this year’s updated State Energy Policy, which is supposed to lead to the Czech Republic increasing its share of nuclear energy to up to 50% by 2040. “In 2040 the fuel mix for electricity generation will comprise 46 to 58% nuclear, 18 to 25% renewables and secondary sources, 5 to 15% natural gas, and 11 to 21% brown and black coal,” claimed Minister of Industry and Trade Jan Mládek (Social Democrat) upon publicly presenting the new energy policy. If the scenario envisioned in the State Energy Policy actually plays out, nuclear energy will become the dominant source of electricity in the Czech Republic for a long time to come. In the decision-making process the Czech government rejected a policy based on renewables or natural gas. Politicians were particularly opposed to renewable energy due to its high price. However, as this paper demonstrates, Czech politicians’ rejection of green energy was not founded on economic data but on ideology, as the high price of nuclear energy seems to pose no problem………..

A Radiant Heritage

In the Czech Republic we call the MIT’s methods salami tactics: The current government is having a project drawn up for the construction of new reactors in which billions of Czech crowns will be invested. There is thus a real threat that future politicians will inherit a grim inheritance from which they will have to complicatedly work their way out of. Or they will have to commit themselves to massive subsidies from public sources—which (at least according to available public documents) have not yet been consulted with the European Commission over adherence to business competition rules.

Calculations made by independent analysts suggest that there may be a substantial threat to consumers in the future. Continue reading

Neutron bomb attack on Yemen, by Israelis, in Saudi plane?

Saudis Have Israel Nuke Yemen for Them Gordon Duff, Senior Editor on May 21, 2015 Neutron bomb dropped by IAF plane with Saudi markings… By Gordon Duff and Jeff Smith, Editors A video received from Yemen, believed to be taken May 20, 2015, of an explosion, when analyzed by nuclear weapons experts is, by very high probability, a neutron bomb that could only have been an Israeli attack.  The analysis:

A. Its not a conventional 2k lb bomb. It’s much bigger.

B. Its either a very large MOAB bigger than 4,000 lbs. or; ???? Max weight for an F-15 / 16 is about 2,000 lb payload per bomb rack making the deployment of a MOAB impossible.

C. Its appears to be a small neutron bomb. The size, color, lightning effect and duration of the fire ball being suspended in mid air and the very large mushroom cloud is the main give away. The CCD cameras imaging device was “scintillating” (detecting Neutrons) That is the white pixel flashes in the video. When the photo has white pixel flashes in it, that is because it is being hit by neutrons from the nuclear fireball blast. It overloads the ccd’s electronic circuit producing white flashes.

If the radiation is too high it will burn out the chip. They had big problems with this in Japan with the Fukushima robots cameras failing due to very high radiation counts.

D. Delivery is most likely by an IDF F-16 with a Saudi paint job on the plane. They are not even hiding their use anymore, they just don’t publicly admit it and the IAEA does nothing or says nothing. That is the true war crime. The UN just ignores it unless the US, France or GB complains…….. Russia and China say nothing.

E. This is now the second known use of nukes in Yemen by Saudi Arabia…………..

Post Script:

A. The range of the camera is calculated to be about 4 to 5 miles from ground zero based on shock wave timing.

B.Saudi has no F-16’s. The aircraft reported to be used to droop the bomb in Yemen were F-16’s. Photos and acoustic signature confirms that the jet engines noise is from a single engine jet fighter of the F-16 type.

Jeff Smith is a nuclear physicist and former IAEA inspector.

Labor leader candidate Jeremy Corbyn sets out plans for UK nuclear disarmament

Corbyn to set out plans for UK nuclear disarmament 70 years after Hiroshim Labour leadership candidate Jeremy Corbyn says that real security for a country is providing well for its citizens in terms of housing, education and employment

Labour leadership hopeful will vow to scrap Britain’s Trident programme at CND event marking anniversary of 1945 bombing of Japanese city

Labour leadership hopeful Jeremy Corbyn will use the 70th anniversary of the dropping of the atom bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima to set out his plan for nuclear disarmament in the UK.

Speaking at a Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament commemorative event in London on Thursday, Corbyn will say that if he were prime minster he would not replace the Trident nuclear weapons system and would transition away from nuclear weapons entirely.

In a document entitled Plan for Defence Diversification, Corbyn sets out a strategy to protect the jobs and skills of those who work on Trident, and in the defence sector more widely, by investing in “socially productive” hi-tech industry and infrastructure projects.

“We are making the case for a defence diversification agency because we have a moral duty, and strategic defence and international commitments, to make Britain and the world a safer place,” the document reads.

“As a signatory to the nuclear non-proliferation treaty, Britain should therefore give a lead in discharging its obligations by not seeking a replacement for Trident, as we are committed to accelerate concrete progress towards nuclear disarmament.

“Senior military figures have described our existing nuclear weapons as ‘militarily useless’ and our possession of them encourages other countries to seek a similar arsenal while undermining the efforts being made to advance the cause of international nuclear disarmament.”

In 2016, parliament is expected to vote on the £100bn renewal of the Trident programme, a set of four submarines armed with Trident II D-5 ballistic missiles, which are able to deliver thermonuclear warheads.

Corbyn, MP for Islington North since 1983, attends the CND commemorative event in Tavistock Square garden in central London every year.

Also attending the event is the Green party’s Lady Jones, who will say: “It is amazing that we haven’t learned more from the nuclear bombing of Japan, that nuclear weapons are indiscriminate, their impact incalculable and their cost insupportable.

“Britain should accept that such weapons are impossible to use with any guarantee of safety and we should scrap plans for renewing the Trident nuclear defence system, freeing up £100bn to spend on our national wellbeing.”

Mankind’s most dangerous bluff – nuclear weapons

Nuclear peace: Mankind’s most dangerous bluff?, Economic Times By AFP |”………as the atomic generation gives way to one that did not grow up building fallout shelters, some experts say nuclear weapons are no longer the ultimate guarantor of global peace. Growing instability around the world – the renewed rift between Russia and the West, simmering tensions between nuclear-armed India and Pakistan, a drive by China to modernise its nuclear forces and an ever-more bellicose North Korea – have undermined efforts to reduce the global stockpile of nuclear weapons and keep doomsday at bay.

With ties between Moscow and the West at Cold War lows, Russia has fallen back on its nuclear threat, boosting its arsenal and increasing flights by strategic bombers, in what NATO has described as “dangerous nuclear sabre-rattling”.

Nuclear weapons are seen in Moscow as “ultimate proof that Russia is a great power” despite its struggling economy and poor international image, said Pavel Baev, a Russian military expert at the Peace Research Institute Oslo.

He warned that Putin and his top brass had not “gone to the school of nuclear deterrence” and did not understand the “extraordinarily dangerous game” they were playing.

Bruno Tertrais, an expert at the Paris-based Foundation for Strategic Research, said the fear of mutual devastation still made “large-scale military conflict between Russia and NATO unthinkable”.

But as weapons spread to more volatile parts of the world, the threat of nuclear war grows.

Nine nations – the United States, Russia, Britain, France, China, India, Pakistan, Israel and North Korea – possess some 16,300 nuclear weapons between them, according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute.

Fitzpatrick said the most likely confrontation would be between longstanding foes India and Pakistan, which could be enough to create a so-called nuclear winter. In such a scenario, the sun would be blocked out by smoke, causing a devastating cooling of the Earth.

If there were another attack like those in Mumbai in 2008 when Pakistan-based terrorists went on a four-day killing spree in the city, India’s government “may not turn the other cheek”, he said.

Fennovoima the last hurrah for nuclear industry in Finland

Regional daily: PM Sipilä says Fennovoima could be Finland’s last nuclear project

Prime Minister Juha Sipilä says it’s unlikely that his government will approve any new nuclear power plants after the Fennovoima project, reports the regional daily Keskisuomalainen. In an interview with Keskisuomalainen, Prime Minister Juha Sipilä stated that the Fennovoima project could be Finland’s last nuclear power plant. However Sipilä stressed that no firm decisions had been made on the issue.

Sipilä said that it seemed unlikely that any new proposals for nuclear power plants would come up for consideration during the current government’s term in office.

Sipilä added that during government formation talks he had conducted a straw poll among prospective coalition partners. It was on this basis that he said it was “very unlikely that anything further would happen on this front.”

“There are no applications or any discussions ongoing about nuclear power permits,” Sipilä remarked.

Sipilä’s government programme has made no mention of nuclear power; rather, it has highlighted the possibilities of the bio-energy sector……..

Mass media and government deception on Fukushima’s 7 nuclear meltdowns

Fukushima; Reactors And/Or SFP’s In #5 And #6 Melted Down – Total of 7 Melt Down’s, Melt Outs, Nuclear Explosions A Green Road Blogspot,

This article will start with a short history of Fukushima, and then go into some of the things that have been completely covered up by TEPCO and the mass media, before presenting the evidence of melt downs in Buildings #5 and #6. Have you heard of any evidence of melt downs in those buildings? No? Why not?
A British professor and expert on the health effects of ionizing radiation told Alex Jones back in April of 2011, that the evidence pointed towards a nuclear explosion occurring at the Fukushima Daiichi complex. Two explosions at the plant in March were described as hydrogen gas explosions by Japanese officials and the pro corporate mass media. On the Alex Jones Show, April 12, 2011, citing data collected by two Russian scientists, Professor Chris Busby told the world that the explosion(s) at Fukushima were nuclear.”
Guess what? Dr. Busby was right, and he is an example of a truth teller. This article will go into the details and prove just how right he was. To this day, the nuclear industry experts and mass media attack him and portray him as a liar, just like they do with Dr. Helen Caldicott and AGRP. The truth gets almost no air time on the corporate controlled mass media.

For those who do not know how the deception works, it is worth diving into the articles at the following link, to explore the vast and organized deception practiced by the nuclear industry. Unless a person understands this basic fundamental fact about the industry, the rest of the article will not make much sense, and may just trigger a knee jerk reaction of; “This can’t be true, it is too outrageous.”

Art And Science Of Deception; Global Corporations And The 1%

It took TEPCO three months to finally admit the meltdowns of 3 reactors at Fukushima. The nuclear industry claimed that this could NEVER happen, of course. TEPCO still has not admitted to what Chris Busby was talking about one month after 3/11/2011, which is the non hydrogen (nuclear criticality) explosion happened at building #3, as of 2014.  TEPCO issued no warnings from 3/11 to now, to anyone about anything dangerous coming from Fukushima. They are acting and talking as if the whole Fukushima mega nuclear disaster site is just a picnic that has a minor ant problem, nothing more.

Govt. Had 1 Million Potassium Iodide – KI Pills Available, But Refused To Hand Them Out After 3/11 Fukushima Mega Nuclear Disaster; via @AGreenRoad

TEPCO did not hand out KI tablets and lied about the severity of the accident, right from the beginning all the way through to present day, with no exceptions. In doing this TEPCO had the support of the complicit medical community, the nuclear regulators and the Japanese government. Almost no one one called them on this initial deception and coverup that had severe health consequences. There were a few brave individuals that stood up to this Matrix like nuclear machine, such as Dr. Busby, Arnie Gunderson, and Dr. Helen Caldicott MD, among others.. These few truth tellers, (among others like deserve your support and encouragement, by the way.

There is a price and consequence to lying and covering up a mega nuclear disaster; especially when human lives are at stake. Japan sacrificed their children, by worshiping at the alter of nuclear power. They ‘burned’ their children with radiation on the nuclear industry alter, almost the same way as people in the Old Testament burning children as sacrifices to the God Molech.

Almost universally, the mass media downplayed the nuclear disaster. Little or no investigative reporting has been done around this mega nuclear disaster. The corporate controlled mass media refused to get into any debates around the issues that this mega disaster should have brought up, which proves that the US mass media is very dysfunctional at this point, and democracy has been lost in the USA, as well as other countries where this issue is not covered or debated at all.

Right after the Fukushima mega disaster happened, the Fox News network even went so far as to feature Anne Colter, who said all radiation is good for you, and the more, the better. She was promoting the discredited hormesis theory, as all pro nuclear apologists do. The mass media went along with the PR spin handed out by the nuclear industry and reported that all radiation is harmless, and it will cause no damage to anyone, which is the exact opposite of the truth. When deception becomes the truth, and the truth becomes a lie, democracy and freedom is lost.

Hormesis; What Does Not Kill You, Is Good For You
The whole Fukushima mega nuclear disaster does not exist according to the mass media, and still doesn’t even today, in 2014, three years later. The mass media and official account is that Fukushima is only 10% of Chernobyl. The pro nuclear shills claim that no one has died, and no one will die due to Fukushima radiation. Good grief! The coverup of Fukushima is more than 99%, and less than 1% has been revealed, but now AGRP has to prove that is the truth, correct?

The mass media is a very effective propaganda outlet and PR spin machine for huge corporations.
