Fukushima breaking news; GREBES DEAD on the Great Salt Lake in HUGE NUMBERS, Kevin D. blanch 1/15/14

The Bald Eagle ACUTE UTAH Deaths are being correlated with the GREBES acute death,
“Every time grebes die,” she says, “we send some of the dead birds to a laboratory for testing. Usually, avian cholera jumps out as the cause of death. This year, though, the initial laboratory results were not as conclusive. That led us to believe that something else might have killed the grebes this year.”

  1. So who is Kevin D Blanch, another clone of Sean or Christina. There is no connection with Grebes dying in Great Salt Lake and Fukushima, but no connection is required when you are an anti-nuclear liar. I expect that Busby and Moret will now reinvent themselves as world renowned ornithologists. Since the weather in US has been extremely unusual this year, perhaps there is a weather connection, but of course that does not advance the false claims about nuclear power that are the basis of the anything that is anti-Nuclear-News – if it really were the :”Nuclear-News” it would report all of the news, not just the lies put out by the professionals who want to rid the world of nuclear power. Well Kevin, write me – tell me that you really know something about dying grebes. I look forward to it – DUstory dash owner at yahoogroups dot com.

    • if you think Kevins posits are too much i would say that the unusual weather might be exagerated by the global dimming caused by contrails of aircraft cooling the land and allowing the polar vortex to head further south than normal.. but if i was to say the “unusual” polar vortex shifting is normal and grebes have been around for a long time and probably have seen a few of them hitting utah over the millenia.. in any case the nuclear corporations arent likely to have taken it in to account as it is deemed unusual.. what has busby and moret got to do with this discussion?? Kevin thinks busby is a nuclear schill.. you think busby is an anti nuke schill .. .. you have to admit his theory that a nearby MOX fuel burning nuke establishment up wind.. at least kevin is using his critical thinking skills and trying to stay on topic .. unlike some people.. wouldnt the people who send the birds of for testing know if they died of frostbite?? sounds like the USA couldnt find a fault if it came up and bit them on the nose.. imo

      • Sean,

I knew you were a clever scientific ignorant, but you outdo yourself in this one. Busby is a “for Busby” shill who derives much of his travelling income from fools with leanings toward the Green Party who believe that Green Audit is some kind of charity that really cares about the environment Kevin’s “critical thinking” skills are pretty much non-existent. He can prove it to me – all he needs to do is write and not be impossible to contact.

ok you supplied the link and kicked me arse for not checking and varifying my sources..

        fair enough

  2. The following is the reply from the Acting President of the Great Salt Lake Audubon Society

    Roger,

The recent massive die-off of eared grebes appears to be due to West Nile virus. I do not believe anyone in the scientific community has made any connections to this occurrence and the after effects of the Fukushima nuclear disaster. Here is a link to a recent article from the Salt Lake Tribune regarding the eared grebe die-off and its effect on the local bald eagle population: http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/news/57336899-78/virus-eagles-nile-west.html.csp

    Sincerely,

    Heather Dove
Acting President, Great Salt Lake Audubon

    • State wildlife officials announced Tuesday that the National Wildlife Health Center in Madison, Wis., confirmed West Nile virus is the cause of the eagle deaths. Five more eagles are currently being treated in wildlife rehabilitation centers.

West Nile virus was suspected when sick and dead eagles started to show up in early December, but wildlife officials were reluctant to identify the mosquito-borne virus as the culprit because it has never been reported so late in the year.

“This is a major development. This is not typically a time we would expect to see West Nile virus. We monitor West Nile every year, but during mosquito season. This is an unusual event,” said Leslie McFarlane, wildlife disease specialist for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR). “It is concerning and something we will have to watch for going into the future.”

now that was a good bit of research.. the roger i remember.. complete with links .. good work!!

  3. This is disingenuous. Your headline implies a link to Fukishima when the article does not draw that conclusion. You need to raise the standard of your discourse. Making spurious claims simply undermines your credibility.

    • the headline is directly from kevin blanch though he does mention some nuclear facility in utah,

As you can see above, Roger has put his foot down with this post and blown it apart with his link.. I have to make sure that i double check my sources or in this case kevins sources..
I might point out that like chunky mark in the uk kevin (from utah) is a poet, artist and uses that medium to convey his ideas. I do enjoy his rants and comments even though i suspect that the odd comment is aimed at me πŸ™‚
this is where the commets section comes in handy for a busy blogger .. And i thank you for taking the time to voice your fair critisms.
To be honest i am distracted with more important nuclear issues and should have checked this story out better.. I am sure Kevin has this opinion for a reason. As you notice i have been careful not to cover animal stories generally unless i can find some scientific proof, such as the lead poisoning from hungary in 2011 found in birds voiced in an official report..
but bottom line you and roger are right and as nuclear-news gains in strength and because of the need for accuracy i shall endevour to improve
      peace

      • Only pro-nukers (who are desperate to protect the nuclear industry) and who are fervently trying NOT to link anything to nuclear radiation would believe that the eagles died from West Nile.

The eagles may have tested for West Nile in their systems, but this is NOT the reason for their deaths.

Most West Nile is sub-clinical and never amounts to full-blown disease.

        From the CDC’s website:

“Although some infected birds, especially crows and jays, frequently die of infection, most birds survive.”

        http://www.cdc.gov/westnile/faq/deadBirds.html

        REPEAT: “most birds survive”

I do not believe for a second that these eagles died from West Nile.

I’m not saying it was due to Fukushima, but I don’t believe it was from West Nile.

Even the article linked by the pro-nuker “Roger” says several times how unusual and out-of-the-norm it would be that West Nile would be the cause.
