Experts cast doubt on reactor cooling strategy
NHK has found there is a possibility that more than half of the water injected into a reactor at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant failed to reach its destination.

In the severe accident at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, 3 reactors melted down, releasing a huge amount of radioactive materials.

Anti-nuclear protest held in Tokyo
A major anti-nuclear protest was held in Tokyo on Sunday, one day before the 2nd anniversary of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami. The natural disaster caused an accident at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant.

Anti-nuclear power protests staged in Europe
People opposed to nuclear energy are staging demonstrations in Europe ahead of March 11th, the 2nd anniversary of the nuclear accident in Japan.
In Germany, protesters rallied at 4 locations on Saturday. They demanded an immediate halt to the country’s 9 nuclear reactors that are still operational. The government plans to close all nuclear plants by 2022.

Anti-nuclear protest held in Taiwan
Tens of thousands of people have protested in Taiwan against a nuclear power plant project.
The protests on Saturday took place in 4 cities, including Taipei and Kaohsiung. They came 2 days before the 2nd anniversary of the nuclear disaster in Fukushima, Japan.
