  1. Depleted Uranium weapons are, I believe are an illegal class of weapon. If this plant were in another country, it would be used as pretense to blow up the whole country because they’re producing Chemical weapons which target civilians…

  5. I cant understand how it got to an expensive trial.. if the USA pentagon can hire hackers because they find flaws in the security of the computers why cant they employ nuns to do the same with nuclear power plants.. sister Megan Rice is a hero for standing up to this hypocrisy! And we are standing behind her! spread this far and wide! imo

@ scott sorry about the slightly inaccurate title but it explains the situation in a more powerful way.. and sister Rice could do with all the help in getting the word out !! Thanks for highlighting that ! peace

  6. slightly inaccurate title that explains the situation in a more powerful way? how about an outright lie? it was not peaceful, they broke into the facility. and did property damage. the peaceful protesters are the ones who stand outside the entrance like they have for years. if this had been a group of Muslims who had broken into the facility….people would have been yelling about terrorists and wondering why they were not shot. These people broke the law, why should they not be convicted? Because one of them is an 86 year old nun? Here is the latest about the story….not someone being slightly inaccurate to sensationalize the story. http://www.wbir.com/news/article/273567/2/Convicted-Y-12-protestors-denied-bond-for-now

  7. If I remember correctly, they broke into KingsBay, GA Submarine Base… They hiked through the woods for a couple miles, cut a hole in a couple razor wire fences, and then marched down the street caring signs and what not… They were lucky they weren’t shot by the security forces. They didn’t actual make it to any nuclear facility (each highly secured and protected), they just made it to lower base and were caught. Anyone who knows what I’m talking about will tell you they didn’t embarrass anyone but themselves for committing crimes and nearly committing assisted suicide. If you think it’s a good idea to break into one of these facilities to protest, remember that you are trespassing on a military installation and could be shot on site by OUR military who is just trying to protect THIS country from someone with an obvious psychological disorder. If you want to protest, that is fine, do it… Just don’t commit a crime in the act. Anyone who thinks this was peaceful doesn’t realize how close to death these protesters really were. Use common sense and stop glorifying criminals.

    • hi craig..

you are entitled to your opinion.. but the way i see it.. the citizens of the USA are not able to protest effectively, they have little sway with politicians and NO voice in the media.. its not a level playing field imo
I am amazed that anyone could consider a nun a criminal.. for peace activism.. and it was an “action” to highlight the issues.. its how a true democracy works.. and the pentagon has expanded its base of hackers who target terrorist and activists by 30,000 (funding OK`d in 29 Feb 2013) to 35000 web warriors..

and lots of bloggers etc have been hacked since..

so even blogging is not guaranteed to be there..

…..actions are our only real voice to the rest of the population that relies on the MSM for information..

and we cant make human nature illegal and we cant control human passions
we should concentrate on the more serious criminal actions and let small local crimes be dealt with by the community/region.. its more effective than locking every one up.. but thats another argument i suppose..

At least we are getting the debate about it here.. and not on the MSM ;)
many thanks for your comment and for putting your viewpoint into thee discussion

      peace

      Comment by FluxRostrum | May 10, 2013 | Reply

      • It’s properly used as “COMPREHENSION’S” and is called a conjunction… Do a Google search, someone made a TV show about it for little kids and happens to have one of the most entertaining songs ever written. Not to mention you missed a comma following “suit”.

Everything you say in the future will be discredited based off of your obvious intellectual limitations.

      • Thank you for your support Duke!

        Comment by Craig | May 10, 2013

      • Thanks for the grammar support, Duke, but I believe that’s supposed to be a ‘contraction’, not a ‘conjunction’. And, while we’re at it, let’s not forget to remind FluxRostrum that the first letter of the first word in a sentence is supposed to be capitalized. Furthermore, the use of the word “huh” implies that he or she is asking a question, which generally requires the use of a question mark at the end of the sentence, rather than the period that was used.

All that being said, I hope I’m still healthy and engaged enough with the world to stand up for my convictions when I’m 83. Way to go, Sister!

    • Hate to see these people go to jail but sadly I agree. These facilities are protected for a reason. They just got through the perimeter. I do believe we have a right to tell our government what we think and want for our country but we have to do it in a peaceful legal way.

      • The citizens of the USA are not able to protest effectively, they have little sway with politicians and NO voice in the media.. its not a level playing field, and it is America’s officials and judges and not the anarchists who exhibit the most flagrant contempt for the rule of law. The shortcomings in security at one of the most dangerous places on the planet have embarrassed a lot of people, and these three heroes are not only being used as scapegoats, but as a warning to anyone who dares to challenge the corporate state. So run little sheep…back to your master and obey all of the commands, which you will…and by doing so you are guaranteeing your enslavement and that of your children. We are being lied to, mislead and robbed. By continuing to allow our focus to be pointed toward the political war between its parties, America has devolved from a free form of government and market economy into those managed to operate for the benefit of a privileged few. It saddens me greatly to see so many who are still aligning themselves with their party of choice vs. the other, when our only real foe is the accumulation of power by our corporations. The focus of the people is being manipulated to support the established Democrat and Republican agendas, and while doing so, our future enslavement is guaranteed by those who manipulate and who will benefit for monetary profit, not a political ideal.

  9. I agree with Craig Above. I worked at Kings Bay as security for about 3 1/2 years and let me tell you, they are lucky to be alive. If they would have hiked another couple miles in the woods they would have run into laser fences and motion sensors deploying a security force that shoots first and asks questions later. Not to mention if they would have somehow survived that incident they would have been killed by the velociraptors patrolling the woods or the man eating dolphins in the water.

    • Hi Tom
excuse the heading but as i mentioned above.. the titles on the MSM are not very emotive and are indeed clinical.. not to induce emotion

this is a dear sweet little old lady… not an Al-Qaeda (whatever that is) operative, not even a globalist insurrectionist.. she is just a nun.. and shes locked up! now! this minute..

however thanks for the re-reminder of a slightly misleading title.. just like the MSM eh? I am levelling the playing field on this article imo.. :)

and what is cohort? a these real human beings.. what type? other nun types or something more mysterious, something more…. dangerous! something more fearful??

hehe i love the english language and its effect on perception.. dont you?

      • IMHO misinformation is the last thing this world needs. George Orwell said “In times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act”.

Headline would have been just as evocative had it said ‘facing’ 20 years. And given the 2 charges I believe the max sentence was 35 years. Reality is anymore time would be a death sentence for Megan.

        Again IMHO ;-)

        Keep fighting the good fight.

Wars for profit need boogeymen. The MSM has demonized the Muslim and now we will have war until we steal every last drop of oil. Like the brave Berrigans, this nun has sacrificed her comfort to awaken the conscience of the greatest purveyor of violence in the world, America.

  24. There’s nothing “depleted” about uranium…it is the endless killer of people.

Politicians DO have depleted intelligence….lobbyists are the cause of that condition.
(To think, lobbying or bribery was illegal 30 years ago. Jail time was what they got. So, Congress decided just to legalize it. No vote was required from the Public, even though it directly affects us!) But, I digress….

So does our law abiding government (yeah, right) feel that giving a 83 year old woman a twenty year sentence for a protest is justified? Well, if this is true then, Eric Holder should turn himself in for high crimes against the US. Obama our Kenyan president, should also turn himself in for being a murdering scum and disgracing the American Public in the eyes of the World. But, too much money is available to hold these traitors in place.
Sending them to jail would, “be detrimental to our great country.”
But, sending this elderly woman to jail for throwing blood on a weapons facility that real terrorists could have breached security as easy as she did…sending her to jail is totally justifiable in their pea brains.

Here’s the only point that she heroically proved, we have NO security or just piss poor security at weapons facilities. Terrorists could easily take control of these facilities. So, who else goes to jail for having dropped the “security ball” because, she proved that security didn’t exist there! If your job is to ensure that nuclear weapons material is under constant supervision but, you shirk that responsibly, arrest, prosecution, and jail should be your fate. Too many lives are depending on you doing your job 100% of the time!

But, the idiot that was in charge of security probably got promoted.
