Doubts and inconsistencies in IAEA report on Iran’s nukes
Careful examination of the “alleged studies” documents has revealed inconsistencies and other anomalies that give evidence of fraud. But the IAEA, the United States and its allies in the IAEA continue to treat the documents as though there were no question about their authenticity.
IAEA report on Iran contains falsified information allegedly supplied by Israel, Moral Outrage, 11 Nov 11 The Hindu reports that the latest report of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Iran appears to have falsified information about a Russian scientist who allegedly helped Tehran advance its nuclear weapons program. The IAEA report published by a Washington think tank Tuesday included a sensational claim that a former Soviet nuclear weapons scientist had helped Iran construct a detonation system that could be used for a nuclear weapon.
However, the Russian media has found out that the scientist, Vyacheslav Danilenko, had never worked in nuclear physics but their field of expertise was instead the production of nanodiamonds by explosion. Nanodiamonds are used in the manufacture of lubricants and rubber.
Contacted by the Russian daily newspaper Kommersant, the 76-year-old scientist, now retired, refused to discuss his work in Iran, saying only: “I’m not a nuclear physicist and I’m not a father of Iran’s nuclear programme.” Continue reading

A spokesman for Rosenblatt solicitors, which is representing veterans from the UK, New Zealand and Fiji since taking up the case six years ago, said: “This is potentially very significant information for the progress of the case.”…

France’s spy court case shows up dirty tactics of nuclear lobby
This spying scandal and verdict against EDF couldn’t have come at a worse time for the global nuclear industry
Nuclear giant EDF found guilty of spying on
Greenpeace, Greenpeace, by JustinMcKeating – November 10, 2011, As the great Mahatma Gandhi (nearly) said, ”First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they spy on you, then you win”.
That’s pretty much the chain of events that lead to today’s conviction by a French court of French state electricity company, Electricité de France SA (EDF) for spying on us. The court fined the company 1.5 million Euros and ordered it to pay €500,000 in damages to Greenpeace France. In addition, the court sent the four men involved, two of them senior EDF executives, to jail as well – and fined three of them. Continue reading
India’s nuclear propagandist, Abdul Kalam is a fake
From our Antinuclear correspondent in India, 9 Nov 11 I was reading Kalam’s report on how Koodankalam was safe and why nuclear is the future for India when I had a suspicion about his educational background. All his rantings seemed very unscientific to me so I did some research and found out that HE IS A TOTAL FAKE! He has only a degree (bachelor’s in science) BSc and the prefix Dr. has been conveniently been added by him in front of his name to promote himself as a doctor of science. In fact he has not received even an honorary doctorate degree from any institution or group as they sometimes arbitrarily give someone a doctorate even if they have just a fifth standard education in India (as in the case of Kurananidhi, former chief minister of Tamil Nadu who according to a report in Facebook apparently has stashed away 3500 crores of indian rupees in Swiss Banks (an astounding amount).falsifying nuclear safety documents
Ex-supervisor for Tucker firm admits falsifying nuclear plant docs, AJC 9 Nov 11 “….John E. Delk, 40, a former crew supervisor for Williams Specialty Services, changed his not guilty plea at a hearing where he told a U.S. magistrate he certified work that he knew had not been completed at the nation’s only current reactor construction project…..
Records show that in August, 2010 a completed form falsely purported to state micrometer readings of cables installed to provide energy to equipment, including safety equipment inside the containment structure at Unit 2 of the Watts Bar nuclear plant in Spring City.
A court filing in Correll’s case said inspection records were falsified on the spur of the moment when Correll was told to “hurry up and get it done.” Delk was Correll’s supervisor…. http://www.ajc.com/business/ex-supervisor-for-tucker-1221283.html
Radiation airport scanners – US govt backs corporate profit rather than public health
Incredibly, the government has continued to dismiss the medical and scientific community’s concerns about these X-ray machines, relying instead on safety assurances from profit-driven corporations such as Rapiscan.
The ProPublica/PBS NewsHour report, which is available at propublica.org, traces the history of the scanners, details exactly how the decision to deploy these scanners came about, and documents the gaps in regulation that allowed them to avoid rigorous safety evaluation. This report is a damning indictment of the extent to which the American people have been sold to the highest corporate bidder by government leaders……

Cancer-Causing Airport Scanners? Enough Is Enough, NJ TODAY , November 7, 2011, By John W. Whitehead Just when you started to think it might be safe to fly again… Remember those whole-body, X-ray scanners the government installed in airports across the country and kept insisting were so safe? It turns out that they’re not so safe, after all. According to an investigative report by ProPublica/PBS NewsHour, anywhere from six to 100 U.S. airline passengers each year could get cancer from the machines. Continue reading
Kudankulam activists withstand pressure to drop their anti nuclear protest
the activists have also alleged that a person who was in no way connected with the ongoing protests was included in the expert panel formed by the state government to represent the protestors. But Udayakumar alleged that another person was inducted into the panel as people’s representative

Researchers show that Syria’s supposed nuclear site is a textile factory
That secret nuclear facility in Syria? It’s a textile factory, researchers say in new report, Washington Post By Joby Warrick 4 Nov After a four-year search for hidden atomic facilities in Syria, U.N. officials appeared this week to have finally struck gold: News reports linked a large factory in eastern Syria to a suspected clandestine effort to spin uranium gas into fuel for nuclear bombs.
But after further probing by private researchers, Syria’s mystery plant is looking far less mysterious. A new reportconcludes that the facility and its thousands of fast-spinning machines were intended to make not uranium, but cloth — a very ordinary cotton-polyester.
“It is, and always has been, a textile factory,” said one of the researchers, Jeffrey Lewis, a nuclear policy expert at the Center for Nonproliferation Studies and publisher of the blog Arms Control Wonk…..
Will Australia afford civil rights to Julian Assange, or kow tow to USA?
Assange’s extradition will have broad implications, not only for the exercise of
free speech, but also for all Australians — as it will bring into stark relief our own government’s commitment to our rights as citizens…
If he is sent to Sweden, Assange’s extradition must be conditional on him not being subject to the “temporary surrender” clauses in the bilateral treaty between the USA and Sweden….
[ Former Prime Minister]Kevin Rudd.., unlike the Prime Minister [Julia Gillard] and Attorney General, knew he was obliged to presume Julian Assange innocent
before proven guilty. Instead of threatening to cancel this Australian passport, the Foreign Minister said publicly that his responsibility was to attend to his legal and consular rights.
While the world watches events unfold in London, we have a singular responsibility here in Australia for the protection the citizenship entitlements of one of our own. The next move is squarely in the court of the Australian Government.
Why Julian Assange Could Be You, New Matilda.com, By Scott Ludlam, 3 Nov Australians should watch closely how the Gillard Government responds to Julian Assange’s extradition . It will test Labor’s commitment to all of our rights as citizens Continue reading
