The Japanese Government should support the Fukushima disaster victims financially by giving them more regular and full examination and evacuating them into safer area.
Fukushima Health Management Survey Team announced that 12 children under 18 years old developed thyroid cancer and 15 children with suspected to develop it. (So far 174,000 out of 360,000 children were examined.)
Fukushima Medical University denies the relation to the effect of the Fukushima fallout, saying that it was 4 to 5 years in the case of the Chernobyl disaster when thyroid cancer was developed.
Dr. Bandazhevsky has been warning the effect of the Fukushima fallout since he visited Japan last year.Mr. Kouta Kinoshita, one of popular blog on Fukushima disaster sent his recent thyroid news as follows:
“12 children developed thyroid cancer and 15 children with suspected cancer”So far about 170,000 children were examined. It means 1.6 in 10,000 after 2 years if you include suspected children.
I believe normally 1or 2 in 1million children develop thyroid cancer which means about 160 times more than normal were found in Fukushima.”
According to Mr. Kinoshita, he was shocked to hear the news and asked him to pass this information to all the other Japanese people.
“In 1991 5 years after the Chernobyl disaster, ratio of children developed thyroid cancer was 11.3 in 100,000, girls among them were 16.8 in 100,000 in Gomel district in Belarus.”
Mr. Kinoshita left his comment in his blog, saying:
“According to Dr. Bandazhevsky’s reply, I think the ratio of the children developing thyroid cancer in Chernobyl in 5 years is similar to the one in Fukushima in 2 years: If I apply it to Fukushima case, it is 1.1 in 10,000, 1.7 girls in 10,000.
The number of children developing cancer will increase as the time passes on, therefore there would be more serious consequences in Fukushima than in Chernobyl in the future.”
Dr.Akira Sugenoya, Matsutomo Mayor in Nagano prefecture since 2004, had worked with Chernobyl children at in the Cancer center in Gomel district in Belarus.
Dr. Akira Sugenoya’s comment on Thyroid examination
We should not conclude on the result of thyroid examination as nothing to do with Fukushima fallout.Normally 1 to 2 in 1 million children develop thyroid cancer. However in Chernobyl, 4 children developed thyroid cancer in the following year. Also we should be well aware that cancer spread into lung in one in six cases in Chernobyl.Nuclear disaster is a national crisis. We haven’t learned a lesson from the Chernobyl disaster and been neglecting the danger of Nuclear energy. The Japanese Government should support the Fukushima disaster victims financially by giving them more regular and full examination and evacuating them into safer area.
In this remarkable conversation, Sibel Edmonds reflects on Russ Tice’s recent revelations to Boiling Frogs Post and The Corbett Report that the NSA has wiretapped top government officials for years. Edmonds discusses from her own experience how the FBI collects dirt on Congressman and public officials for use as political leverage. We also talk about how this scandal proves that there is no “official channel” for whistleblowers to follow when they want to expose wrondoing because the system is being controlled from behind the scenes by the criminals in the national security establishment.

They might as well have burned a cross on Dr. King’s grave. The Jim Crow majority on the Supreme Court just took away the vote of millions of Hispanic and African–American voters by wiping away Section 4 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
I’m so angry, so distraught by this, that I’ve asked my foundation to release my film, ‘Election Files, for free. This is a no-BS, no charge download of my series of investigative reports for BBC Television and Rolling Stone.
Furthermore, I’m directing the Palast Investigative Team to drop all other work for a ‘round-the-clock investigation of the Theft of 2014 and 2016 elections that the Supreme Court’s ruling sets in motion. Help us, join us.
When I say “millions” of voters of color will lose their ballots, I’m not kidding. Let’s add it up.
Last year, the GOP Secretary of State of Florida Ken Detzner tried to purge 180,000 Americans, mostly Hispanic Democrats, from the voter rolls. He was attempting to break Katherine Harris’ record.
Detzner claimed that all these Brown folk were illegal “aliens.”
But Section 4 of the Voting Rights Act requires that 16 states with a bad history of blocking Black and Brown voters must “pre-clear” with the US Justice Department any messing around with voter rolls or voting rules. And so Section 4 stopped Detzner from the racist Brown-out.
I’ll admit there were illegal aliens on Florida’s voter rolls – two of them. Let me repeat that: TWO aliens’–One a US Marine serving in Iraq (not yet a citizen); the other an Austrian who registered as a Republican.
We can go from state to state in Dixie and see variations of the Florida purge game. It quickly adds up to millions of voters at risk.
Yet the 5-to-4 Court majority ruled, against all evidence, that, “Blatantly discriminatory evasions [of minority voting rights] are rare.” Since there are no more racially bent voting games, the right-wing Robed Ones conclude there’s no more reason for “pre-clearance.”
Whom do they think they’re fooling? The Court itself, just last week, ruled that Arizona’s law requiring the showing of citizenship papers was an unconstitutional attack on Hispanic voters. Well, Arizona’s a Section 4 state.
You’ll love this line from the Ku Klux Kourt majority. They wrote that the “coverage” of Section 4 applies to states where racially bent voting systems are now “eradicated practices.”
“Eradicated?”I assume they didn’t see the lines of Black folk in Florida last November. That was the result of the deliberate reducing of the number of polling places and early voting hours in minority areas. Indeed, if the Justice Department, wielding Section 4, hadn’t blocked Florida from half its ballot-box trickery, Obama would have lost that state’s electoral votes.
And that’s really what’s going on here: The problem is not that the Court majority is racist. They’re worse: they’re Republicans.
We’ve had Republicans, like the great Earl Warren, who put on the robes and take off their party buttons.
But this crew, beginning with Bush v. Gore, is viciously partisan. They note that, “minority candidates hold office at unprecedented levels.” And the Republican Supremes mean to put an end to that. See “Obama” and “Florida” above.
And when they say “minority” they mean “Democrat.”
Six years ago Soca became aware that telecoms giants, insurance companies and law firms were engaging in illegal activity by ”routinely” employing private investigators to obtain sensitive data, including the use of telephone interception specialists who would physically attach real-time listening devices to a targets landline.

Establishment Protecting Corporations From The Law
“What is astonishing about this whole murky affair is that Soca had knowledge of massive illegal invasions of privacy in the newspaper industry – but also in the supply chains of so-called blue-chip companies.
“I believe they are sitting on physical evidence that has still not been disclosed fully to forensic investigators at the Metropolitan Police. The law should also be rigorously applied to other sectors that have got away with it.”
The Labour MP Keith Vaz, chairman of the Home Affairs Select Committee, said:
“I am deeply concerned about these revelations. I will be seeking an explanation from Soca as to why this was not told to the Committee when we took evidence from them about the issue of private investigators.
“It is important that we establish how widespread this practice was and why no action was taken to stop what amounted to criminal activity of the worst kind.”
In an attempt to defend itself, a Soca spokesman said:
“Soca produced a confidential report in 2008 on the issue of licensing the private investigation industry. This report remains confidential and Soca does not comment on leaked documents or specific criminal investigations. Information is shared with other partners as required.”
Tritium level rising in Fukushima plant port
Officials from Tokyo Electric Power Company say the level of radioactive tritium has been rising in sea water near the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.
They say they can’t rule out the possibility that contaminated groundwater seeped into the sea.
TEPCO officials said contained 1,100 becquerels of tritium per liter. That is 10 times the amount detected in previous tests.
But they said the figure is still less than one-fiftieth of the government-set limit for water to be released into the sea.
The river sediments of Dneeper, Sozh and Pripjat, Neman, Zapadnay and Divina increased Cs-137 by 80%. This is only official state data. It reached also backwaters: The Sr-90 activity varies from 2,2 – 66,0 up to 407 – 4,215 Bq/Kg).
Alpha-radionuclides density in riverbed sediments is higher than in river waters: Pu238 from 0,005 – 9,10 Bg/Kg; Pu-239-240 from 0,13 – 28,13 Bq/Kg; Am-241 from 0,07 – 16,2 Bq/Kg. In the 90ies the levels fro Cs-137 and Sr-90 exceed pre-accidental levels in ground water 20 – 30 times and in underground waters 10 times and more.
Chernobyl turned the soil into a collector where accumulation and prolonged retention of long-living radionculides occur.
According to Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology, Cs-134 was detected from 7300m deep in the Pacific only 4 months after the Fukushima nuclear accident.
The location is in approximately 115km east from the epicenter, 4.9km east from the trench axis of the Japan Deep.
From their press release of 5/29/2013, 20 Bq/Kg of Cs-134 was measured from the the sea ground sediment (0~1cm depth) in July of 2011. It proves the Fukushima contamination reached 7300m deep in the Pacific detecting Cs-134.
They observed the upsurge of phytoplankton around the Japan deep from late March to early April in 2011. They assume Cs-134 fell down with the mass of marine snow.
Also, at the point of 110km east from the epicenter, they observed the local strong current with a certain direction. Due to this strong current, dead bodies of sea creatures and the sorts of fish that can’t fix themselves at one location were carried to the deeper area. Almost no living benthos was found.
At both of the 110km area and 115km area, they observed mineral particles causing seawater extraordinary unclear. The thickness of the unclear layers were 30m and 50m in each.
20,000 Bq/Kg from school swimming pool sediment in Miyagi prefecture
According to a citizens’ radiation monitoring station in Kakuda city Miyagi prefecture, significantly high level of Cs-134/137 was measured from sediment in a swimming pool.
The pool is located in an elementary school of the city. The school is probably going to have a swimming class this year.
Chapter1. State of the Environment Annual Environment report 1992
Ground subsidence is brought about by the excessive extraction of ground water.
Once it has subsided, ground cannot return to its former level. This can cause severe damage and problems to architectural structures.
Ground subsidence was already observed in Tokyo’s Edo-ku and in West Osaka before the Pacific War. After the war, economic stagnation resulted in a temporary pause, but by the mid-1960s it resumed countrywide, with some locations even recording a severe drop of more than 20cm annually.
After that, as a result of regulations on the use of ground water, land subsidence has gradually decreased. However, even in 1990, 5 locations (a total of 14km2) dropped by more than 4cm, and 18 loca-tions (totaling 360km2) dropped by more than 2cm. Particularly affected are the Northern Kanto Plain, the Kujukuri Plain in Chiba prefecture. and Chikugo-Saga Plain in Saga prefecture (Figure 1-1-27).

In the video at the top of this post Tepco mention injecting materials to block and solidify the ground and to block ground water but as the above chart shows, that could destabilise the ground levels by effecting the pressure and direction of the ground water.. Spent fuel pool 4 at Fukushima Daichi is in peril as the ground has already dropped after the 2011 earthquake and subsequent remedial works. Did or does Tepco use the ground water at Daichi? Are they taking into account the porous nature of the rock type/fractures? [Arclight2011part2]

Last Thursday 20 June as part of Chernobyl Children International (CCI) annual airlift of children, the first flight carrying 300 children from the affected regions of Chernobyl arrived into Ireland.
The children who come from impoverished backgrounds, institutions and foster homes in the heart of the contaminated Chernobyl zone will be hosted by Irish families throughout 11 counties in Ireland as part of CCI’s Summer Rest & Recuperation Programme. Despite these challenging times, Irish volunteer host families continue to raise funds locally throughout Ireland to support the children and ensure they benefit from a cleaner Irish environment.
Adi Roche, CEO, CCI, said, ‘Despite the difficult economic circumstances many families find themselves in Ireland, our volunteers have opened their hearts and their homes this summer to children who so desperately need our help. While the Chernobyl accident happened over a quarter of a century ago the consequences last forever. My heartfelt gratitude to the volunteers who offer hope to live to the children who the world has largely forgotten.’
The arrival of this summer’s children brings the total number of children who have benefited under the scheme to over 22,500 children since the aftermath of the Chernobyl disaster in 1986.

Individual Stories
(1)Brothers Alexei and Vasily
Among the children are brothers Alexei and Vasily who have been waiting excitedly to board the flight from Minsk to Shannon for many months. These young teenagers were abandoned at birth and live in a remote institution, Vesnova, in the South East of Belarus. Vesnova is home to 170 other children and young adults, many who have been confined to institutional care since they were babies.
Alexei is wheelchair-bound and depends on round-the-clock medical care, provided by CCI’s Medical Care Programme. Alexei will make the 3,000 mile journey to meet his host family, Mike, Susan and their children Ricky and Grace in Cork. Vasily will join his host family in Kilkenny who are waiting anxiously for him to arrive.
(2)Igor
Another little boy Igor, from Vesnova is 12 years old but looks not much older than a little 2 year old toddler. Little Igor suffers from a multiple congenital birth defects and deformities and was cruelly abandoned to the Institution since birth. His only lifeline is his Irish host family, the Coxes from Westport. Marie Cox, her husband Dermot and four boys, who opened their hearts and their home to Igor over 4 years ago. Although Igor can’t talk or walk and is confined to a wheelchair, he is an expert communicator and has become a well-known face around the town of Westport every summer!
Other boys and girls from Vesnova will join their families for what will be a holiday of a lifetime and a gift to them from the people of Ireland. Volunteer host families up and down the country give these children an unforgettable summer holiday, and at the same time they gain respite from the high levels of radiation to which they continue to be exposed as a result of the Chernobyl explosion. The summer is a particularly dangerous time in the Chernobyl regions as the intense heat contributes to the redistribution of radioactive materials.

….The contract with Nuclear Management Partners (NMP) – a consortium made up of British company Amec and Areva of France and led by URS of the US– was first signed in 2010 for five years with an option to roll it over for up to 17 years at a total cost of more than £22bn…
Nuclear Decommissioning Authority declines to predict final lifetime clean-up cost amid fears total bill could exceed £100bn
The public body charged with overseeing the dismantling of Britain’s network of atomic power and research stations will reveal on Monday that its estimates for the lifetime cost of the programme has risen by billions of pounds.
Despite this, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) will say in its annual report that it is getting to grips with the clean-up problem because the rate of cost growth is slowing year-on-year.
Yet the soaring costs will alarm industry critics at a time when the government is trying to encourage construction of a new generation of atomic power plants while plans to construct a permanent home for high-level radioactive waste are stalled.
In the NDA’s 2011 annual report the provisional cost of dealing with the UK’s nuclear legacy was put at £53bn, compared with a 2010 figure of £49bn. The new number in the 2012 set of accounts is expected to be around £55bn. But under previous accounting methods, the figure historically used has risen to well over £80bn with some predicting the final bill could exceed £100bn.
