Engineer who worked on Hinkley Point C nuclear project quizzed on suspicion of being a Russian spy

A nuclear power station worker was quizzed on suspicion of being a spy
after he returned to the UK from Russia. Mario Zadra, a 67-year-old Italian
national, worked at Hinkley Point C in Somerset from 2020 to 2023, and was
questioned by counter-terrorism police after he flew into Heathrow airport
on April 12, 2023. It was reported that potentially sensitive documents
were found in his possession and were seized by the authorities to prevent
them being ‘used to carry out a hostile attack’.

  1. I am not a Russian spy; I am simply a whistleblower who refused to process design documentation for safety-critical components that contained deliberately falsified information to cut costs on materials.

  2. When counter-terrorism police stopped me, they found a bundle of documents. The cover page? A formal complaint intended for the Metropolitan Police, accusing eight former colleagues of document falsification networks, conflicts of interest, and much more.

The rest of the documents? Solid evidence backing those allegations.

Whoever reported me wasn’t after justice—they simply wanted to silence and discredit me, exploiting the fact that my wife is Russian.

Unfortunately for them, they failed. It didn’t take much to prove I’m not a spy—just someone who believes that the safety of British citizens is not up for negotiation.

    This is the complaint: https://x.com/MZadra36376/status/1887512201310970075

  3. When I arrived in Russia, beyond the formalities, I wrote to the Office of the Presidency of the Federation requesting political asylum. Two weeks later, I received a response.

I’ve been exposing the issues at Hinkley Point C for two years, writing daily, yet not a single UK authority has had the decency to address me directly. They have only resorted to underhanded tactics and legally dubious actions to try to silence me.

And while I cannot prove it, the incident I suffered on 29-12-2023 was no coincidence…

And yet, the UK brands Russia as the root of all evil…
