TODAY. Sleeping our way to doom, through the media lies about the Ukraine war

Right now, there’s the Ukraine so-called “counter-offensive” (an interesting new term coined and designed to imply something a lot more substantial than the more familiar term “counter-attack”)

Well according to the Western corporate media, this “counter-offensive” IS something substantial. Indeed, it means that Ukraine is winning, will win, this war. Crimea and the Donbass will be returned to Ukraine, the Russian army will be routed, and the Russian economy crippled. And Ukraine will join NATO. Sure, it’ll take a while, but with more weapons from the West, it will be a success, and the West will fund the post-war repairs and restoration of Ukraine.

The other story, from Russia, is that even if it does take a while, the defeat of Ukraine is assured. And indeed, the Ukrainian “counter-offensive” will probably be over in a few weeks.

Somewhere in the middle, a few brave souls strive for the truth. Being myself a Westerner, I know little about independent thinkers and writers in Russia. But I suspect that any who criticise Putin and the Russian military authorities get punished.

As for Western writers who criticise Zelensky, or cast doubt on the Ukraine success story – well, politicians, academics, and the corporate media have no trouble in discrediting them, branding them as ‘Putin’s puppets’

The tragedy of it all is that we are now on the road to nuclear Armageddon, – and the public cannot trust “respected” media reports – as ill-advised “patriotism” trumps truth, and we just do not get the facts.

This is a good site. Thanks. Maybe it would get banned in russia. Its not banned in China. It is probably viewable in Russia. Greenpeace is banned in Russia but, there are many greenpeace activists in jail, in the us and the west.
The creator of reddit commited suicide. He committed suicide, rather than face going to long term prison, in the usa, over the totalitarian espionage act. His charges were for downloading, some minor library files at a university. That was, not only totalitarian, it was barbaric and medieval.
Meanwhile, there is a vast darkside, in the usa. There are far more people incarcerated in the usa, than in any other country, in the the world. Far more than russia and china. Mostly poor people.
23 percent of the incarcerated people, of the world that are incarcerated, are incarcerated in the usa. . That does not include people on probation and parole.
The nsa, national security administration, has access to virtually every smartphone and computer, on the internet, in the usa. Thanks to elliot abrams, the patriot act the fbi, the cia , the department of homeland security and silicon valley. Silicon valley makes bilions gathering dirt on citizens in the usa, and selling it to big brother. The fbi, nsa, dhs spy on people and keep files on them at will. Google, owns android. Google has backdoor access to the personal information and calls, texts of 65 percent of people in the usa. The nsa and fbi have access to apple devices. Thats the other 35 percent of the country and 100 percent total. The us govt invented the internet. It has backdoor access to crappy microsoft computers and better apple computers.
People on many smartphones can even see the govt spying on them, when the camera and microphone icons, mysteriously go on while they are talking, texting or on the internet.
There are more than 2 million people, incarcerated in the usa . Incarcerated for everything fom traffic violations, to petty crimes, to weaponized witch hunts, to minor drug posession, to incarceration for loitering and now for being homeless. It is very true that local police agencies, are mostly about arresting poor people to make money. But they are also motivated to harrass and arrest people on black lists. The local jail here, has 70 people in jail for traffic warrants. My niece is a cop in a metropolitan area. She says and knows cops have blacklists. Crooked cops in nebraska have systematically pulled over thousands of motorists, on a major interstate, with little cause and systematically confiscated 2.2 million dollars from them in the past few years and 7.5 million in 8 years! This is far from an uncommon occurance in the usa.
20 people in the usa were freed from death row, in the usa last year because it was proven they did not commit the crimes they wore acused of! The cops kill an average of 900 peoplea year in the usa. Many of them without weapon and many of them with little intent. Many being in the wrong place at the wrong time! That is because cops in the usa are militarized with some of the shortest and poorest training, in the world. Yet they have access to the most sophisticated computer networks and are beholden to the sophisticated computer networks of federal police state agencies like the federal bureau of investigation and department of homeland security.

There are police black lists of people in virtually every police precinct in the usa. There are police blacklists from FBI recommendations and DHS recommendations, for every precinct in the usa. Blacklists from frivolous, corrupt prosecutotrs. Blacklists from corrupt police chiefs and cops.
There are poor unfortunates, incarceated, in jails for threatening suicide because, there is no room for them in the slim number of psychiatric failities left in many cities and municipalities in the usa. That is a true story, because my nephew is an er doctor. He is aghast, that it is done in his state . He sees it on a weekly basis. that is what is done in state from texas to florida, to arizona. It is the most hideously barbaric thing possible. It is no exaggerion or lie! And that is no exageration christina.
There are many that are incarcerated, that turn out to really be political prisoners.
Ho patriotic is it to root for a war that is siphoning your tax money to support a war that should not have happened, is so far away, is simply enriching crooked poiticians, military contractors, military contractors, psychotic neocons, millionaire and billionaire oligarchs that pay no taxes, a government, while most people in the usa pay 20 to 30 pecent of their paychecks in state and federal taxes. Zelensky may ‘sacrifice all of Europe’ – Russian envoy

With its counteroffensive failing, Kiev may cause a nuclear disaster to draw NATO into war with Russia, Dmitry Polyanskiy said

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky could stage a false-flag attack at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) in order to provoke NATO intervention, Russia’s deputy permanent representative to the UN, Dmitry Polyanskiy, warned on Friday.

Polyanskiy said on Twitter that Russia had “just drawn attention to these plans of [the] Kiev regime during the UN Security Council meeting” that morning. “The whole of Europe may be easily sacrificed by Ze and his blind Russophobic sponsors,” he added. “Don’t tell us we didn’t warn you!”

Zelensky’s “plan” – according to some pro-Russian commentators – would involve causing a nuclear accident at the ZNPP facility, which has been under Russian control since the early days of the special military operation in Ukraine. According to this theory, Kiev would then blame the ensuing disaster on Russia, leading NATO to openly declare war on Russia in response.

This exact scenario was mapped out by US Senators Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal on Thursday. The two lawmakers proposed a resolution under which the US would consider a meltdown at the plant as an act of war against NATO, due to the fact that Poland would be affected by radioactive fallout. Russia’s ambassador in Washington, Anatoly Antonov, cautioned that the “crazy” resolution could be laying the groundwork for such a false-flag incident.
Zelensky claimed on Thursday that Russia is preparing a “terrorist act” at the ZNPP, adding that “radiation knows no borders” and “who it hits” will depend on the “direction of the wind.”

Russia has repeatedly accused Ukraine of shelling the ZNPP, with Moscow’s permanent ambassador to the UN, Vassily Nebenzia, demanding on multiple occasions that the UN Security Council order Kiev to cease firing on the plant. Ukrainian forces also made several attempts to retake the plant by crossing the Dnieper River last year, and allegedly attacked it with explosives-laden drones on Friday morning.

“Ukraine blew up the Nova Kakhovka hydroelectric power station in order to distract the world from the failures of their much-publicized counteroffensive,” Zaporozhye authorities said in a statement. “Now they need another disaster, this time a nuclear one, for which they will again blame Russia.”

Launched at the beginning of this month, Ukraine’s counteroffensive has cost Kiev 13,000 troops so far, without netting any significant territorial gains, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. With American and Western officials reportedly displeased, Mikhail Podoliak, a senior aide to Zelensky, blamed the offensive’s failure on the West’s apparent hesitance to give Kiev all of the heavy weapons it asked for in recent months.
