The News That Matters about the Nuclear Industry Fukushima Chernobyl Mayak Three Mile Island Atomic Testing Radiation Isotope

Nuclear Industry in the Time of Pandemic – theme for April 2020

Nuclear power may soon be irrelevant to our energy needs. With the pandemic and social distancing, nuclear reactors are likely to be cutting back on output, or even going offline. And there are still the risks of extreme weather. Irrelevant, but still dangerous. Similarly, other nuclear facilities, like waste management, and nuclear weapons sites are also threatened. New nuclear development possibly stopped in its tracks, and certainly adding to its already astronomic costs.

The nuclear lobby, desperate to keep its industry alive, is claiming that “essential work” is the construction of the UK’s boondoggle  –Hinkley C project, and USA’s boondoggle Nuclear Plant Vogtle.

The “Small Nuclear Reactors” industry development  is looking sillier – carrying its huge financial risk, but no safety risk yet, seeing that it does not physically exist.

  1. The powers that run america, are ignoring, the great nuclear power plant, fire and meltdown risks. They have accelerated the risks since fukushima. They have added fuel to the fire of nuclear confrontation, through tactical nukes and first strike paradigms.

The countries with major nuclear meltdowns, have only slipped further into risk of nuclear self-destruction and nuclear-world pollution from the economic hardship and political problems caused, by their meltdowns. Those countries are Japan and Ukraine. Ukraine has nuclear powerplants, seriously on the verge of going off.

Russia and America will follow the same course of Japan and Ukraine, for the same reasons. Crippling economic chaos, from nuclear accidents.

They continue to allow risks to grow exponentially in times of dangerous demagoguery and authoritarianism.

There is the looming risk of nuclear war in times of destabilized nuclear armed and nuclear powered countries. In countries like the USA, Pakistan, India, and Russia.

There are multiple reactors and reactor cores in space now. There is  other non-nuclear garbage in space. There is nuclear garbage from abandoned plutonium batteries.

The density of unstable-clumped, space garbage has grown tremendously in the past 60 years. Any large disruption, can spiral a major storm of large to microsized debri into any one or more of the multiple reactor cores in space and send them plummeting to earth. The danger is far more impending, than asteroid risks.

They will have to put up 40,000 satellites, to make  5g work. Asteroids are not our greatest short term threats from space.
There is enough nuclear pollution in the biosphere, to have devastating effects on our immune systems and genome, yet no one speaks of it in relation to the covid pandemic.

A perfect storm of nuclear induced-extinction. What a tragically irrational and painful way, to end human life and most all life, on earth.

  2. In early April they had a drunk worker at the Vogtle site. Lockdown appears to be mostly a joke in many places.

    • Sad ignorance among nuclear staff, – keeping one’s job a much higher priority than one’s health, and health of family?

Another reason for a general strike in this sick devil administration. We are all expendible. We see it from their covid response.

This is why Trump shows every sign of getting his second term: Centrist Democrats. We won’t forgive or forget the role of centrists in enabling the far-right across the West. twitter.com/peterjhasson/s…

Neither the human race, nor American democracy, nor the US economy will survive more of this. Our further existence as a species depends on you.

We have just 6.5 months to save our species.
deregulated dangerous reactors like Fermi, that is ready to blow. more space junk with several reactors and cores in space. abrogation of Nuclear treaties. Tactical nukes on submarines
Renewed Nuclear posturing and cold wars
Every possible outrage, corporate dollar and dictatorial dirty trick is already being thrown at us.

It will take the biggest, best-coordinated local-state-national grassroots movement in history to dump the Trump Dictatorship.
