Anne Lauvergeon is a romantic character who does not like to be talked about. According to our information, the former president of Areva, now a consultant, is trying to forbid the publication of a book concerning the Uranium issue – the name of this mining company bought by Areva in 2007 – to have read.

The book, entitled “An atomic matter, Uramin / Areva, the hallucinating saga of a state scandal“, is due to appear on 19 January at Robert Laffont.

It was written by Vincent Crouzet, the same author who helped publicize this case in 2014 with his novel “Radioactif” (edited by Belfond). This publication had earned him to be heard by the policemen of the financial brigade, made unpublished for a writer.

At the beginning of December, one of Lauvergeon’s lawyers, Jean-Marc Fedida, sent a letter to Robert Laffont, president of the publishing house, asking him to “refrain from publishing” the new book by Vincent Crouzet. He invokes “the deficiencies of the investigation” and the supposed “megalomania” of the writer to claim this exceptional measure.

According to the extract that “the Obs” has been able to consult, the book does not present itself however as an investigation. Nor is it a novel. It is rather a testimony. That of an author, whom one guesses close to the services, who found himself mixed up, without really seeking it, in the Uranium affair.

This is not the first time that Anne Lauvergeon has tried to prevent the publication of a book not authorized by her. Two years ago, Jean-Louis Perez, author of a biography, “The Power at Any Price” (ed. Seuil), had also received a comminatory letter from Master Fedida threatening him with legal proceedings. His book was not the subject of any complaint.

On the other hand, Mrs. Lauvergeon’s husband, Olivier Fric, seized comments made by Jean-Louis Perez during a radio program to attack him for defamation. The case is still ongoing.
Two judicial instructions

The Uranium case is now the subject of two investigations. The first, for “publication of inaccurate accounts” and “dissemination of false and misleading information“, has already earned Anne Lauvergeon and her former chief financial officer, Alain-Pierre Raynaud, to be indicted.

On the other hand, Anne Lauvergeon’s husband, Olivier Fric, was charged with “insider trading” in a second open investigation for “fraud”, “abuse of social good” and “corruption of Foreign official “.

New revelations about Olivier Fric, husband of Anne Lauvergeon

This aspect of education is still in its infancy. Will Areva ever know why Areva paid 1.8 billion euros for three uranium mines that proved to be unusable?
