去 年夏、米国で福島第１原発と同じ型の原子炉を持つ原発の閉鎖が決まった。バーモント州にあるバーモントヤンキー原発。老朽化による汚染水漏れなどにより、 運転延長への反対運動が起きていたが、福島の事故後、論争が過熱した。４０年間の運転免許が切れる２０１２年に閉鎖すべきだとする住民と州政府。反発する 電力会社は州を告訴した。原発閉鎖はどのような経緯をたどったのか…その過程を米国人監督が追った。
