USA follows Russia in a massive nuclear weapons drill

boys-with-toysThe US Is Conducting A Massive Nuclear Arms Drill Days After A Russian Nuclear Exercise Business Insider Australia, JEREMY BENDER 13 May 14 The B-2 stealth bomber is taking part in Exercise Global Lightning 14.

U.S. Strategic Command will be conducting a massive “deter and detect” nuclear drill from May 12 to May 16, just four days after a similar Russian exercise. The U.S. drill, known as Exercise Global Lightning 14, is set to include ten B-52s and six B-2 bombers in an attempt to demonstrate U.S. military flexibility and responsiveness.

The drill, which is meant to simulate a scenario in which the U.S. would have to protect itself and its allies in the event of a “strategic attack,” is being touted as a chance to incorporate modern technology into U.S. drills…….http://www.businessinsider.com.au/us-conducting-a-massive-nuclear-arms-drill-2014-5

  1. Love the artwork here! As Flying Cuttlefish of the Louisiana Sinkhole Bugle/Flying Cuttlefish Picayune blogs says “Boys, boys, put away your toys”.

  2. Sorry but it wasn’t a post but rather a reply within a discussion. Flying Cuttlefish allows long-winded discussion and debate on their blogs. As in your artwork, sometimes a few words sum things up and stick in one’s mind. The general links to the blogs are: http://lasinkhole.wordpress.com http://flyingcuttlefish.wordpress.com What is particularly interesting about the Louisiana Sinkhole itself is that it is an imploding cavern within a salt dome. And, even though it’s supposed to be illegal in Louisiana, they have wanted to use salt domes in neighboring Mississippi for US radioactive waste. In a wet semi-tropical climate, it’s a very insane idea. I think it made it into the most recent US Blue Ribbon report for waste disposal. The reason is that Mississippi has a very low population, plenty of trees, and plenty of poor people so this makes it “low risk” for rad waste in the eyes of the decision-makers. It also has the largest African American population in the US. Thanks again for your tireless efforts.

    • Well, thanks – at least you led me to a very interesting website. Also thanks for your compliments to me, and your insights into all that oil-gas politics going on between Russia and multinational corporations.
