Japan will discuss ways to develop research facilities in coastal areas in Fukushima Prefecture, home to the crippled nuclear plant, Kazuyoshi Akaba, state minister of economy, trade and industry said Monday.
The move is part of the central government’s efforts to help foster new industries and promote reconstruction in the northeastern Japan prefecture following the 2011 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disasters.
Akaba said it is imperative to create new industries and secure jobs for evacuees when they return home.
The panel will compile a report in June next year. The ministry hopes that proposals in the report will be reflected in a fiscal 2015 budget.

UK Nuclear power station contracts agreed
http://www.gazetteseries.co.uk/news/10904181.Nuclear_power_station_contracts_agreed/?ref=var_0
30th December 2013
THE company planning to build a new nuclear power station in South Gloucestershire has agreed contracts with four major firms to provide engineering and other technical services.
Horizon Nuclear Power wants to put reactors on land at Shepperdine, next to the existing Oldbury atomic station, which stopped generating power nearly two years ago. The Hitachi subsidiary also aims to build a station at Wylfa in North Wales, which will be the first site Horizon will develop.
Three UK-based firms AMEC, Atkins and Cavendish Nuclear, which all have offices at Aztec West, were selected by Gloucester-based Horizon, along with American company the Jacob Group, which has an office in Stoke Gifford
All four will be working for the next three years with Horizon, which described their input as crucial in helping the company with its planning and preparation for main on-site work at Wylfa from 2018.
RADIATION AT FUKUSHIMA DISASTER SITE 18 TIMES WORSE THAN REPORTED
So how, exactly, did TEPCO get readings of just 100 mSv per hour until recently when they discovered readings of 1800 mSv per hour? You won’t believe this: They were using a radiation meter that maxed out at 100 mSv.
[…]
Previously, TEPCO told the public these tanks were only leaking 100 mSv per hour, downplaying the actual radiation leak level by almost 95%.
[..]
As a result, thanks to the arrogance and criminal dishonesty of top-level TEPCO managers and bureaucrats, yet another massive radiation release from Fukushima is inevitable.
In fact, it’s just one earthquake away.

At the Fukushima-Daiichi nuclear power plant, radiation isn’t the only thing leaking out. Each week, it seems there’s another small leak of the truth that has been deliberately hidden from the public. TEPCO finally admitted it has been downplaying the ongoing radiation release levels by a factor of almost twenty.
The real story here is exactly how TEPCO arrived at the deceptively small numbers it has been reporting since the 2011 accident. It turns out (see below) that TEPCO has been deliberately using radiation detectors that “max out” at relatively low levels (i.e. they don’t go higher than 100 mSv). When those detectors are pegged at their max readings, instead of switching to a more capable instrument with a larger detection range, they simply report the maximum detection limit of the smaller detector as the “real” exposure number. Here’s how we discovered this:
Radiation leak 18 times higher than previously disclosed
According to a TEPCO press release covered in Bloomberg Japan, “TEPCO announced high-dose radiation of hourly 1800 mSv from the tank periphery has been observed.”
This is highly radioactive water leaking from the now-famous “storage tanks” that were never designed to be long-term storage tanks in the first place. Previously, TEPCO told the public these tanks were only leaking 100 mSv per hour, downplaying the actual radiation leak level by almost 95%.
That same story goes on to say:
Ito Tetsuo Professor of Kinki University (radiation biology) said, regarding the level of hourly 1800 mSv, “There is only a thing called death if you stay exposed to this for four hours. One hundred percent of persons will die within 30 days.”
The BBC is also covering this story, just in case you want to see this in English. On the BBC’s page, it says:
Radiation levels around Japan’s Fukushima nuclear plant are 18 times higher than previously thought, Japanese authorities have warned.
It now says readings taken near the leaking tank on Saturday showed radiation was high enough to prove lethal within four hours of exposure.
The new reading will have direct implications for radiation doses received by workers who spent several days trying to stop the leak last week, the BBC’s Rupert Wingfield-Hayes reports from Tokyo.
And that’s the understatement of the year. “Direct implications” means the clean-up workers are already dead.
Why the increase from 100 mSv to 1800 mSv? They finally started using a different radiation detector
Prime Minister Abe is a CIA Agent?

Please take a look at CIA list in Japan! http://fukushimaworkerslist.blogspot.jp/2013/05/cia.html
According to this, Abe’s grandfather Mr. Nobusuke Kishi (former WWII war criminal who became the Prime Minister in Japan) was definitely CIA spy and his relatives are all CIA spies.
Could a CIA agent be the Prime Minister of a nation?
Before the start of Parliamentary session, this should be the first and most important agenda, which should be clarified especially before the Liberal Democratic Party (funded by CIA) is trying to pass the Specified Secrecy Protection Law in the current session!
******************
I was totally appauled when I heard what our Prime Minister had said in the International Olympic Committee meeing, I believe many share the same feeling.
“The contamination of the water is blocked within 0.3 square km.” What is he saying while tens of thousands Bq/kg fish have been found outside of this area?
Moreover, what I thought unimaginable was the following line.
There have been already 43 child thyroid cancer and the suspected cases! This is more than a hundred times higher than normal incidence rate! http://takenouchimari.blogspot.jp/2013/08/2013731-fukushima-children-thyroid.html
In addition, according to a talk of Fukushima mother, there have been at least mutiple number of thyroid cancer kids who had already lymph metastasis.
However, Fukushima Medical University who concluded an agreement with IAEA is not going to report on cancer metastasis of any patients.
Even in Tokyo, more than 200km away, there is tremendous level of contamination and some have been complaining health hazards.

http://savekidsjapan.blogspot.jp/2013/03/letter-to-ioc.html
Including the Tokyo contamination and health hazards issue, I submitted a petition to IOC jointly with medical doctors, politicians, activists, etc.
http://savekidsjapan.blogspot.jp/2013/03/letter-to-ioc.html
To our regret, our petition did not give any impact…ESPECIALLY, CONTAMINATION AND HEALTH HAZARDS IN TOKYO ITSELF HAVE BEEN IGNORED NOT ONLY JAPAN BUT INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY!
http://www.kaze-to-hikari.com/2013/07/post-50.html
In the autumn of 2012, the former Swiss Ambassador Mitsuhei Murata directly pleaded, “Please relocate kids from contaminated areas,” but Mr. Abe didn’t pay any attention.
In 2006, Mr. Abe was questioned in the Parliament whether there was any danger of station-blackout to be caused by Tsunami, and answered, “No problem.” The accident was partly caused by Mr. Abe!
Prime Minister Abe, your grandfather was the Commerce Minister during World War II and Class A criminal, but through secret negotiations with CIA, he became the Prime Minister.
(As a matter of fact, Nobusuke Kishi released the then US ambassador to Japan, Joseph Grew from detention house and played golf together and became friend. “Legacy of Ashes, The History of CIA by Tim Warner”)-this episode is so surprising!
I think it is out of question that a person responsible to the death of 20 million Asian people could become the Prime Minister after the war. (Dear citizens of Asian nations, isn’t that so?)
Even his grand son should not be entitled to be the top of this country especially when he does not show much remorse.
Prime Minister, you haven’t even shown any sympathy to the victims of horrendous Unit 731. It was truly shocking that you unconsciously (?) sat in the fighter with No. 731 with a smile.
And now, you are enforcing its own people’s childrent to participate in the human experiment as in the case of Unit 731.
Amazingly, The doctors and scientists who are working in Fukushima have teacher-diciple connections from the Unit 731 even.
http://savekidsjapan.blogspot.jp/2013/01/japan-victim-and-perpetrator.html
And now Mr. Abe, you are appealing to the entire world, “There have been no health problem.”
Then why did the Japanese government stopped collecting statsistics of leukemia patients only in Fukushima and Miyagi prefectures after Fukushima accident?
You know the news of boosted number of Fukushima child thyroid cancer and suspected cases announced in August! Isn’t this a crime. DO HELP YOUR PEOPLE’S CHILDREN RIGHT NOW!
http://savekidsjapan.blogspot.jp/2013/08/44-44-thyroid-cancer-and-suspected.html
In Fukushima, I heard a mother became mentally devastated since her two young sons became leukemia simultaneously. I heard a cry, “there is no hope…” from a mother whose kid became thyroid cancer with lymph metastasis.
I heard childrens’ voices, “We are going to be sick and die, aren’t we?”
While the Prime Minister conceal these people’s health hazards and encourage people to go back to Fukushima..not only that, your government intends to return ALL FUKUSHIMA PEOPLE BACK TO THEIR HOMETOWN BY 2020 TO ENJOY OLYMPIC GAMES. Is there any more cruel story than this?
Those who do not see the past truth do not see the present truth.
Last year, I heard your statement in the Parliament on TV, “I studied about comfort women a lot and found out that there had been no comfort women.” It is a famous story that Mr. Abe put pressure on NHK to falsify the documentary program on Wartime Sexual Slavery People’s Tribunal in 2001.
However, on September 26 UN General Assembly speech, PM Abe said that he will make effort to protect women’s right and prevent sexual violence against women in conflict areas. What? Without making apologies or compensations to the victims of Japan’s past wartime sexual slavery system? I want to tell him, “Enough of jokes!”
I have never felt so ashamed, sad and angry as being a citizen in Japan.

US will cling to mass surveillance like nuclear weapons – Assange to RT
http://rt.com/news/assange-wikileaks-mediastan-surveillance-950/
Published time: December 29, 2013
Julian Assange said there is “no hope” that mass strategic interception – as it is termed by the US – will go away. The whistleblower then drew a historical analogy with how the US has retained nuclear weapons in the past.
Assange’s comments were made during a panel discussion of the documentary film ‘Mediastan’ on RT. The panel also included director Johannes Wahlstrom and Afghan journalist Enayat Najafizada, who participated in the movie. The film depicts different stages in undercover WikiLeaks journalists’ trips across Central Asia.
“These powers do not give up voluntarily any significant ability to control the world like that,” Assange told RT. He compared any US compulsion to cling onto such abilities as a form of need for global control, pointing out that after the end of the Cold War, the US retained excessive nuclear weapons, despite an enormous anti-nuclear lobby. “Many movies were critical of it – it was a very expensive system to maintain,” he said.
“The US could have reduced its numbers without any significant problem, and yet it still has 5000-6000 nuclear weapons,” he said, adding that there was no need for the country to maintain such a large arsenal of nuclear weapons.
Assange also pointed out further reasons for not standing down from the clutches of the existing system, describing it as “invisible, intangible, complex, and decreasing in cost by 50 percent every 18 months.”
Assange remained optimistic, stating that there has been a shift in the past few years.
“The internet has gone from a politically apathetic space to a new international body politic, which is just starting to find its feet. Edward Snowden was motivated largely by Bradley Manning, both by the success of his revelations and by the ill treatment of him in prison, demonstrating that the US government lacks moral authority and it is not possible to change the system from within. This very conversation is part of that process,” he said.
“So I am to a degree optimistic that there is a new international cultural consensus forming. It is largely embodied within the generation of young people between the ages of 15 and 35. And if it comes to a war between the older generation and the large body of the younger generation, the older generation is simply going to lose.”
“An important part of this process has been demonstrating that the old media organizations are simply a branch of the establishment power within their societies…we simply should not be surprised that The New York Times censors material, or that The Washington Post censors material, or the Guardian, or Central Asian Republic newspapers. They are power institutions. They have interests. What has gone on historically is that they have been very hypocritical institutions in pretending that they are always free to publish anything that is truthful and that the public is interested in. That is false and that is the illusion that needs shattering,” Assange added.
‘Mediastan’ was previously made available through the internet, as it dates back to 2011. However, it has not yet been released in cinemas.
While commenting on the success of the movie, Wahlstrom discussed the impact that WikiLeaks has had on the world.
“From a broader respect we can see that WikiLeaks’ releases have made a large impact and have changed the way we interact with media since then. If we just look at the whole NSA affair, which has gone on for the last half a year or so, it is a direct consequence of the WikiLeaks releases. And nowadays there is no direct censorship which is feasible by particular organizations,” he said.
Tepco not to hold regular press conference for one week / “The New Year’s holiday”
Tepco is going to have the New Year’s holiday.
They hold the regular press conference to announce the latest plant situation etc on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
According to Tepco, they will not hold the press conference from 12/27/2013 to 1/6/2014.
They are going to have the New Year’s holiday for one week.
It’s been almost 3 years, however there has been no fundamental improvement in Fukushima plant.
Reuters Special Report: Japan’s Homeless Recruited for Murky Fukushima Clean-Up
….”We’re an easy target for recruiters,” Nishiyama said. “We turn up here with all our bags, wheeling them around and we’re easy to spot. They say to us, are you looking for work? Are you hungry? And if we haven’t eaten, they offer to find us a job.”…
Sunday, December 29, 2013
http://ex-skf.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/reuters-special-report-japans-homeless.html
Remember the State Secrecy Protection Law that passed on a Friday in November in Japan? One of my twitter followers commented, “Good timing. No one will remember it on Monday.”
Sure enough, the Japanese national media almost completely dropped their coverage the next Monday. So much for the citizens’ right to know, and freedom of the press that they harped about when the Upper House was debating the bill.
They said, almost all of them, “If the law passes, the coverage of the Fukushima nuclear accident will be suppressed by the government.”
Well the Japanese media doesn’t need the secrecy law to stop writing about the nuclear accident, as no one in the Japanese national media ever writes about what the US Reuters just wrote about.
Reuters reports that Japan’s homeless continue to be recruited to work in the decontamination jobs in Fukushima Prefecture, and some of them are forced to go into debt by doing so. Five companies in the Ministry of the Environment registry for decontamination jobs cannot even be identified, says Reuters.
Taxpayers’ money at work, and no report, no naming names in the Japanese media.
From Reuters (12/29/2013; part, emphasis is mine):
Special Report: Japan’s homeless recruited for murky Fukushima clean-up
By Mari Saito and Antoni Slodkowski
(Reuters) – Seiji Sasa hits the train station in this northern Japanese city before dawn most mornings to prowl for homeless men.
He isn’t a social worker. He’s a recruiter. The men in Sendai Station are potential laborers that Sasa can dispatch to contractors in Japan’s nuclear disaster zone for a bounty of $100 a head.
“This is how labor recruiters like me come in every day,” Sasa says, as he strides past men sleeping on cardboard and clutching at their coats against the early winter cold.
It’s also how Japan finds people willing to accept minimum wage for one of the most undesirable jobs in the industrialized world: working on the $35 billion, taxpayer-funded effort to clean up radioactive fallout across an area of northern Japan larger than Hong Kong.
Almost three years ago, a massive earthquake and tsunami leveled villages across Japan’s northeast coast and set off multiple meltdowns at the Fukushima nuclear plant. Today, the most ambitious radiation clean-up ever attempted is running behind schedule. The effort is being dogged by both a lack of oversight and a shortage of workers, according to a Reuters analysis of contracts and interviews with dozens of those involved.
In January, October and November, Japanese gangsters were arrested on charges of infiltrating construction giant Obayashi Corp’s network of decontamination subcontractors and illegally sending workers to the government-funded project.
In the October case, homeless men were rounded up at Sendai’s train station by Sasa, then put to work clearing radioactive soil and debris in Fukushima City for less than minimum wage, according to police and accounts of those involved. The men reported up through a chain of three other companies to Obayashi, Japan’s second-largest construction company.
Obayashi, which is one of more than 20 major contractors involved in government-funded radiation removal projects, has not been accused of any wrongdoing. But the spate of arrests has shown that members of Japan’s three largest criminal syndicates – Yamaguchi-gumi, Sumiyoshi-kai and Inagawa-kai – had set up black-market recruiting agencies under Obayashi.
…
OVERSIGHT LEFT TO TOP CONTRACTORS
Part of the problem in monitoring taxpayer money in Fukushima is the sheer number of companies involved in decontamination, extending from the major contractors at the top to tiny subcontractors many layers below them. The total number has not been announced. But in the 10 most contaminated towns and a highway that runs north past the gates of the wrecked plant in Fukushima, Reuters found 733 companies were performing work for the Ministry of Environment, according to partial contract terms released by the ministry in August under Japan’s information disclosure law.
Reuters found 56 subcontractors listed on environment ministry contracts worth a total of $2.5 billion in the most radiated areas of Fukushima that would have been barred from traditional public works because they had not been vetted by the construction ministry.
The 2011 law that regulates decontamination put control under the environment ministry, the largest spending program ever managed by the 10-year-old agency. The same law also effectively loosened controls on bidders, making it possible for firms to win radiation removal contracts without the basic disclosure and certification required for participating in public works such as road construction.
Reuters also found five firms working for the Ministry of Environment that could not be identified. They had no construction ministry registration, no listed phone number or website, and Reuters could not find a basic corporate registration disclosing ownership. There was also no record of the firms in the database of Japan’s largest credit research firm, Teikoku Databank.
Strontium, the Bogeyman exists, a Wicked One Two Punch
Friday, December 27, 2013
http://nukeprofessional.blogspot.fr/2013/03/strontium-bogeyman-exists-wicked-one.html
————————————————————————————————————-
There are bogeymen that we do not speak of, but let us speak of them now.
Indeed, Strontium is truly the Bogeyman. The “hit energy” is .546MeV Beta, which if that is not bad enough, the daughter radionuclide of that reaction is Yttrium Y90 with a short half life of 2.5 days….so you get a quick and predictable secondary blast of Beta but this time at a much higher energy at 2.2 MeV. This is THE HIGHEST FORCE punch of any of the common radionuclides. Think Mohammed Ali.
Ouch, so first you get sucker punched by the Zombie Bogeyman, then in your weakened state, your get a point blank massive blow from a MMA fighter.
Strontium goes right into the bone and stays there, and of course the blood is produced in the bones, and then you get leukemia, which is terrible and deadly, often very quickly. Bone marrow also produces essential element of the lymph system which is what fights sickness and disease.
1963 was the peak levels of atmospheric pollution from nuclear testing.
Kids tested high in strontium in their teeth (think tooth fairy and that workman’s comp nightmare, LOL) in those days. There were also a lot of respiratory realted ailments, and nuclear fallout does cause that.
I was born in 1963. I almost died twice from respiratory ailments, in my first 2 years. Nuclear almost got me. Now it’s time to Kill Nuke.
You can protect against Strontium by loading with calcium (think Tums) but it must be done within 24 hours, and sooner is better. The liars will never fess up within 24 hours.
The below link shows how to protect against certain radionuclides.
And the Fukushima “water treatment” only takes out the cesium, not the strontium, that is why “they” try very hard to avoid talking about the bogeyman under the bed, Strontium. The Fukushima treated water is thus highly concentrated in strontium.
In fact, as of Feb 2013 TEPCO has not done any removal of Strontium, although the infamous ALPS system which can remove some strontium is supposed to be working in March 2013. After that, TEPCO wants to dump the still somewhat radioactive water right into the ocean, because they “don’t have room for more tanks”.
http://www.yomiuri.co.jp/dy/national/T130222004411.htm
Besides the massive radiation from the initial dispersal exlosions and nuclear fires, and the subsequent continuous groudwater pollution, a further “dump” from nuclear boy, will mean many fish, shells, and coral will have a large concentration of strontium, and the half life is right around 30 years, just like cesium. The gift that keeps on giving.
Here is a scientific paper on Strontium specifically related to Fukushima.
http://www.biogeosciences-discuss.net/10/2039/2013/bgd-10-2039-2013.pdf
Here are some handy charts for Energy Levels and types of emissions (alpha, beta, or gamma)
Interesting that the energy levels are different from the ones stated in the biogeosciences scientific document above.
