Russia, Vietnam ink deals on nuclear energy, weapons China View MOSCOW, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) –– Russia on Tuesday signed a document to build Vietnam’s first nuclear power plant, and another deal to deliver Russian-made weaponry to the Southeast Asian country, Russian news agencies reported. The nuclear energy agreement was endorsed by Sergei Kiriyenko, the head of Russia’s state-run nuclear agency Rosatom, and Pham LeThanh, the head of Vietnam’s electricity company EVN……………

Meanwhile, Russia’s state-owned arms exporter Rosoboronexport and the Vietnamese Defense Ministry’s General Export-Import Company clinched a major arms deal.

“Vietnam has signed with Russia a contract on the delivery of aircraft and related military hardware,” Dung said after meeting with Putin, without giving further details.
