We have an existing contract under which we work, Kattainen said.
The source specified that the fuel is supplied by TVEL, a subsidiary of the Russian nuclear energy corporation Rosatom.
The contract with the Russian supplier will remain in force until the expiring of the current licenses of the Loviisa nuclear power plant: that of the first reactor will expire in 2027, and the second one in 2030.
Most of the countries of the so-called old continent are going through a difficult situation with hydrocarbons, in general, after the outbreak of the war in Eastern Ukraine.
