Commenter Pia Jensen points out that Carol S. Marcus, Ph.D., M.D., UCLA states: “The costs of complying with these LNT-based regulations are enormous.

This raises the question of costs to whom? Who benefits? Who pays in each instance What are the costs of one extra cancer for the entire population? Richardson et. al.’s (Oct. 2015) study of nuclear workers in the US, UK, France, which came out after Pia Jensen’s comment (below) was submitted, leads to an estimate of approximately 100 additional cancers per 100 people after only 10 years of 100 mSv per year exposure.
