Abstract
Ecological studies near point sources of risk are generally modelled by distance bands involving data from small areas fitted into convenient radial area divisions. In contradistinction, this study examines risk of dying of breast cancer between 1995 and 2001 in wards adjoining the estuary of the River Blackwater in Essex, UK where measured radionuclide contamination exists in muddy sediment and other material, derived from discharges from the Bradwell Nuclear Power station.
