India to get huge increase in renewable energy – Tripathy

Massive increase expected in renewable energy production, Tripathy , THE HINDU. ANIL KUMAR SASTRY The Union government expects the share of renewable energy, presently at 6.9 per cent of the total production in the country, to grow to at least 15 per cent in the next five years, said Upendra Tripathy, Secretary to Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy on Friday.

As many as 293 companies have promised to produce 2,66,000 MW renewable energy at the recently concluded RE-Invest, global investors’ meet on renewable energy in Delhi, Mr. Tripathy told presspersons here.
