  1. This is the most maddening thing that is going on. I was just watching the today show Feb. 21st, 2015 and they were saying that there were all of these sea lions showing up on the coast of California looking sick and hungry. What makes me so angry is they aren’t addressing the real reason these poor animals are sick and are malnourished. The today show claims that it is because of an increase of temperature in the ocean and that’s why the sea lions are starving and sick. Give me a break! Do you really think that everybody is going to believe that load of crock. Did the today show forget about the disaster in Fukushima Japan in 2011 from the nuclear power plant that has leaked many toxic substances and is still currently leaking highly poisonous substances into the whole pacific north ocean today 2015.Still haven’t got a hold on it. Some of the substances I heard are cesium, radiation, and strontium. This is the real reason fish and animals are hungry, sick, malformed, and dying at massive rates. Some people have said the pacific north ocean is dead at this point. Which I believe. What is so scary about this is this highly toxic radiation last thousands and thousands of years 26,000 causing turmoil, sickness, and many kinds of disease to not only sea life but humans also. It has been reported that a lot of young kids and babies are already developing thyroid problems in West America and Japan. This will affect the whole world, not just the pacific north ocean. Very scary! Mostly very maddening. A lot of people don’t know the severity of this situation because they believe everything the mainstream media says, they don’t think for themselves, living in denial, so brainwashed by the material world and are not paying attention to the real issues that are going on. A lot of people are not paying attention and living in their own world. This will be our downfall if people don’t start waking up. Wake up people! This is killing our planet and us ultimately.

    • For the time being, I am being cautious about the effects of Fukushima radiation on sea life. Of course the radioactive water being released into the Pacific is a bad thing. I am sure that it now affects coastal sea creatures, and also does enter the food chain. Still, I rely on the work of careful scientists like Ken Buesseler who are researching this matter. Clearly, the Pacific ocean is so huge that at present, the radioactive isotopes must be greatly diluted. Also, the health effects of radiation are delayed – as we know – people get cancers decades after exposure. So I am sceptical about the effects of large sea animals – about these effects being evident at this early stage. Of course I could be wrong.

      My scepticism does not mean that I think it’s OK – of course the increasing level of global radiation means an increasing global incidence of cancer – just for one effect. So I totally agree with you – that the mainstream media is letting the nuclear lobby lull us into the flase belief that everything is fine.
