Ashurst Australia responds to article criticising it

Dear Ms Wauchope

Thank you for giving me ths opportunity to respond to the article which you have posted on your websites. I trust that you will post this letter with equal prominence. Fairfax is no longer publishing it, has accepted that I and Ashurst acted ethically and competently at all times, and has withdrawn and apologised for the suggestions in the article to the contrary.

Your article contains a number of errors and says anumber of false and damaging things about me. In particular, when I sent you the letter on 10^th December 2012, I had no way of knowing who you were, as we were sending it to you as a domain name registrant. Your site appeared to be published by an organisation. Further, I at all times acted in accordance wit proper legal practise, and my professional obligations to my client.

I hope that you will rethink your decision to continue to publish incorrect and harmful allegations about me.

Editor’s note: I don’t understand why Fairfax withdrew the article from their online publication, as I thought that the article was true. I understand that the journalist who wrote that article stands by the story and has not accepted the claims made by Ashurst. I am posting below , the article in question, published earlier on this website.

nuclear news is a bit thin today so its refreshing to communicate with the pro nuclear legal world.. but didnt i read on your website that your company thought the nuclear industry was doomed? yet you work for uranium mining companies?? NOT a good buisness plan imo.. (some free advise)

a simple check on WHOIS would have told you this as well as there are NO nuclear related news sites except Bellona and WNN (more or less) leaving WordPress for the little people (another clue to the actual status of this blogger. not many corporations use WordPress (A site for activist bloggers with no money [another clue] : ) )

But your company is an anti nuke company that should be working for Greenpeace.. imo

I have to admit that i support your companies non nuclear stance .. why not join us and rid the world of this dreadful contaminant.. its so refreshing that you can get the time to communicate with the “little ” man (or lady in this case) .. Its hard to tell if ones blogging is reaching the masses.. and your communiques have shown us that

know i am off to research a proper bad boy.. Hogan Lovells (British nuclear test veterans cover up and rip off) with that bad boy of science … the UKs new Science Media Centre boy on the block… Paddy Regan.. (i have no friends and hope they write to me… 🙂

However you were right to challenge christinas assertios (or someone elses assertions..
her is what a single blogger can do to a corporation when they get their dander up… (this is impressive btw)

Alfred Donavan not sued by huge legal corporation.. but cost the shell group a bleedin fortune….
