SOMETHING TO KEEP IN MIND…The nuclear industry is a business. Like other businesses they look to cut corners to save money. One way they do that is to not provide back up power to the spent fuel pools that contain highly toxic radioactive material. They don’t provide back up power to that because they are banking on power being restored before an explosion happens. To them the cost of extra generators for all the fuel pools isn’t worth it.
