  Land of Hope – love, loss and nuclear power in Japan, Montreal Gazette October 21, 2012 Land of Hope is nothing like Sion Sono’s exuberant Love

It’s a sad, sober, quiet film that provides food for thought. I’m assuming that the titles is a bit of a sad joke because there isn’t too much hope here, actually. What hope that there is would probably die if exposed to the light of truth.

The movie imagines an additional nuclear power disaster, in Nagashima, Japan, after the one that really did happen in Fukishima, as a result of the earthquake and tsunami in 2011…..
