Legal action against Israel, USA, UK over murders of Iranian nuclear scientists

Families of Iran’s murdered nuclear scientists sue Israel, US and Britain Judiciary asked to pursue complaint through international bodies in attempt to bring killers of five scientists to justice Associated Press in Tehran guardian.co.uk,  15 August 2012 The families of murdered Iranian nuclear scientists have filed a lawsuit against Israel, the US and the UK, accusing them of involvement in assassination.

Rahim Ahmadi Roshan, whose son, Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan, a chemistry expert and director of the Natanz uranium enrichment facility, was killed in a bomb attack in January, told a press conference in Tehran that the families had asked Iran’s judiciary to pursue their complaint through international bodies and bring those behind the killings to justice.

“We’ve filed an indictment against the Zionist regime and the arrogant powers,” Roshan said. The judiciary “is to pursue this case with the relevant international bodies”, he added….. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/aug/15/iran-murdered-nuclear-scientists?newsfeed=true

Gundersen: At this point my mind is changing, and I think perhaps on Units 1, 2, 3, and 4 the best thing to do is to keep them cool for a couple more years and then entomb them for 300 and come back. Unit 4 is a different story, we’ve got to get the fuel out…

Strike on Iran’s nuclear program could provoke bloody month-long war: Israeli defence chief  National Post, Amy Teibel, Associated Press | Aug 15, 2012 JERUSALEM — An Israeli attack on Iran’s nuclear program could trigger a bloody month-long war on multiple fronts, killing hundreds of Israelis or more, the Israeli Cabinet’s civil defence chief warned in an interview published Wednesday.

It was the most explicit assessment yet of how the government sees events unfolding in the aftermath of an Israeli attack.

Matan Vilnai, who is stepping down as the “home front” Cabinet minister to become Israel’s ambassador to China, described the scenarios to Israel’s Maariv daily at a time of heightened debate about the Iranian nuclear threat. Vilnai, a retired general who was
deputy military chief of staff, has spent the past five years overseeing upgrades of Israel’s civil defence systems, including air-raid sirens, bomb shelters and a public alert system.

It could be that there will be fewer fatalities, but it could be there will be more. That is the scenario that we are preparing for according to the best experts
In the Maariv interview, Vilnai said “the home front is ready as never before.” Nonetheless, he said the country must be braced for heavy casualties in the case of conflict with Iran……

At a news briefing in Washington on Tuesday, U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta
reaffirmed the U.S. assessment that Israel has not yet decided whether to strike, while the U.S. military chief, Gen. Martin Dempsey, echoed a widely held assessment that an Israeli operation would only set back, not destroy, Iran’s nuclear project.

Pakistan’s nuclear weapons may fall into hands of terrorist: Leon Panetta, Economist, 15 AUG, 2012,  WASHINGTON: US Defence Secretary Leon Panetta fears that there is a danger of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons falling into the hands of terrorists if terrorism is not controlled in the country.

“The great danger we’ve always feared is that if terrorism is not controlled in their country, than those nuclear weapons could fall into the wrong hands,” Panetta told reporters at a Pentagon news conference here yesterday….

COLD water is a critical factor for nuclear reactors

Extreme Heat, Drought Show Vulnerability of Nuclear Power Plants
By Robert Krier, InsideClimate News, 15 Aug 12,”……Why the Water Matters
Drought and heat affect the water needed to cool nuclear plants in three main ways.

Most plants are built along lakes or rivers because of the ready supply of water to cool the plant. But if water levels drop below the plants’ intake pipes, they can’t suck in the water. In some cases, the pipes can be lowered, but that is often expensive and also risks pulling in sediment that could damage the plant.

Lake or river water can also be unusable if it’s too warm to cool the plant. Other times, the warm water can be used, but the plants operate far more efficiently with cooler water. The third problem that crops up in heat waves is with the outflow from the plant. If the water body is already warm because of low levels or hot days, the outflow could raise the downstream temperature above accepted levels. That has happened repeatedly in the U.S. and in Europe. If a plant isn’t shut down in those situations, the hot discharge can cause algae blooms, reduce dissolved oxygen in the water and threaten aquatic life.

“From our perspective, this has been a problem for years, and it’s only getting worse,” said Wendy Wilson, director of rivers, energy and climate for the River Network, which aims to protect the nation’s freshwater resources. “It gets worse every time we have a drought like this.

“We have terrible thermal pollution problems in this country, and the result is dead and dying rivers. Nobody’s managing the system. We’re all just praying for rain.”…. http://insideclimatenews.org/news/20120815/nuclear-power-plants-energy-nrc-drought-weather-heat-water?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:%20solveclimate/blog%20(InsideClimate%20News)

Critical Alliances: Japan’s Yamashita and USA’s Yanagisawa –convincing the world of radiophobia lies

Critical Alliances” is an article by Fukushima Voice

i have taken some qoutes and added a few comments and links, this is a big story that cant be covered in a simple article. i hope that i have added to the article some valid observations.

heres the link direct to the article at Fukushima Voice

On August 11 and 12, 2012, there was an international symposium at Fukushima Medical University called “Radiation Contamination and Mental Health.”

One of the speakers was Robert Yanagisawa, M.D., an endocrinologist and an Associate Professor in Medicine, Endocrinology, Diabetes and Bone Disease at Mount Sinai School of Medicine.  He spoke through the Internet on “Radiophobia and Reality of Thyroid Cancer.”

“..He established the Mt. Sinai-Tokyo Women’s Medical University (TWMU) exchange program, and has been appointed Visiting Professor by TWMU….”

“..Incidentally, Tokyo Women’s Medical University is one of the hospitals which have put up signs refusing to examine patients for radiation-related illnesses..”

Here is Dr Yanagsiawa giving the oncology philosophy

Radiation Fears and the Reality of Thyroid Cancers

“During the 25 years since the Chernobyl accident, some 4000 cases of thyroid carcinoma and 15 deaths due to thyroid cancer are known from patients aged <19 at exposure. For Fukushima, thyroid cancer risk is expected to be significantly less. First, the amount of RAI released is ~10% of the Chernobyl accident. Second, the typical Japanese diet contains high iodine from seafood. In Chernobyl, patients were iodine deficient and thus predisposed to higher RAI uptake during exposure; similar to patients on 2 weeks of low iodide diet prior to RAI therapy to maximize uptake. Over 35,000 patients followed for 30 years after RAI therapy has not shown any significant increase in thyroid cancer….”

[note he does not mention Hyperthyroidism]

“…These thyroid disorders lead to overstimulation of the thyroid gland and increased production of thyroid hormone. Increased production of thyroid hormone in these thyroid disorder results in a stimulation or quickening of the body’s metabolism and symptoms, such as nervousness, anxiety and hypertension…”

[Sounds like psychological symptoms?]
