Ban urges states to ratify treaty banning N-tests, The Nation September 25, 2011 UNITED NATIONS – UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has urged all remaining states to seize the moment and sign and ratify the global treaty banning nuclear tests, with the aim of bringing it into force by 2012.
Out of a total listed number of 195 states, 182 have so far signed the CTBT and 155 have ratified it. For the treaty to enter into force, ratification is required from the so-called Annex 2 States.
