Palisades nuclear power plant shut down again

Palisades is in Van Buren County’s Covert Township, about 55 miles southwest of Grand Rapids. It was shut down Sept. 16 because of a loss of water in a cooling system, then brought back on the grid last Tuesday.

Palisades Nuclear Power Plant – concerns about earthquakes

An Associated Press analysis of pre-quake data shows the risk that an earthquake would cause a severe accident at a U.S. nuclear plant is greater than previously thought.
