The commission has toured several states and countries, including Sweden and Finland. They’re on a fact-finding mission to find out acceptable storage means. The waste is now stored in tanks at SRS and was supposed to go to Yucca Mountain, in Nevada, but that was shut down last year……..
The commission is headed to New Mexico, next month, and will go to Japan and France after that. They will present their recommendations to the Obama administration in June.
