Bad smell coming from Texas Radioactive Waste Commission

Public vs. Texas Commission » Abilene Reporter-News, Nhele Oetken, 5 Jan 2011, “………the biggest stink coming from a nuclear waste dump in Andrews County is actually coming from the commission that’s supposed to regulate it.When faced with a highly controversial plan to make our state the nuclear waste dumping ground for the entire country, the Texas commission that handles radioactive waste disposal decided to have the public comment period end the day after Christmas.Someone needs to explain why they chose the holiday season, when the public is most likely to be distracted, to solicit these public comments. This is especially true since they had already withdrawn a similar proposal earlier in the year in the face of strong public opposition.
