UK nuclear reactors require massive public subsidy
Greenpeace’s Ben Ayliffe said there was no way facilities like the ones at Sellafield in Cumbria and Sizewell in Suffolk could be built without cash from taxpayers. He added: “Chris Huhne can do policy U-turns until he’s dizzy but he won’t be getting any new reactors without a massive public subsidy, which he has repeatedly and publicly ruled out.”
