Renewable energy to have record growth in 2010
2010 will see record overall new investment in clean energy.
Global increase in renewable energy investments in Q1 2010 Alternative energy news, April 13, 2010,New financial investment in renewable energy worldwide totaled $27.3bn in the first quarter of 2010, up from $20.8bn in the same period a year earlier
According to Bloomberg New Energy Finance reports, biggest investments in Q1 were in China totaling $6.5 billion and in wind farm financing $14.1 billion.U.S. financing increased to $3.5 billion in Q1, up from $2.4 billion in Q4, because of the $394 million construction debt package for the Alta Wind Energy Center in California….Bloomberg New Energy Finance’s chief executive Michael Liebreich commented: “We stick to our forecast that 2010 will see record overall new investment in clean energy. We expect the year’s total to end up between $175bn and $200bn, compared to last year’s $162 billion.”
