Israeli Prime Minister pulls out of nuclear summit
Netanyahu Said to Cancel U.S. Trip for Nuclear Summit By Calev Ben-David April 9 (Bloomberg) –– Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu canceled a planned visit to the U.S. next week to attend a nuclear summit, a government official said. The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, didn’t give a reason for the cancellation and said that Dan Meridor, the Minister of Intelligence and Atomic Energy, would replace Netanyahu at the conference.
The Ynet news Web site said the reason for the decision was that a number of Arab states planned to use the meeting in Washington to raise the fact that Israel isn’t a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. The Web site didn’t say how it got the information….
