Iran using nuclear talks just to “buy time”

Israel says Iran using nuclear talks “to buy time”  Washington TV January 26, 2010

Israel’s Defense Minister Ehud Barak on Tuesday accused Iran of using talks with world powers on its nuclear program “to buy time”.
Speaking at a conference in Tel Aviv, Barak also called for “focused” and “effective” sanctions against Tehran over its continued defiance of international demands on its nuclear activities.
“The sanctions should be focused, continuous and effective, otherwise nothing will happen,” he said, according to the YNet news website.
He also said that a United Nations-brokered nuclear fuel deal, under which Iran would ship abroad most of its uranium stockpile, must be agreed upon in order to ensure that uranium enrichment is not carried out on Iranian soil.
Iran has so far rejected the draft deal, which calls on it to send out most of its low-enriched uranium to be further enriched into fuel for a medical reactor in Tehran.
