Regional nuclear issues top IAEA board meeting’s agenda
VIENNA, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) — The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will focus on Iran, Syria and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea at its board meeting this week……………….
The United Nations Security Council has passed several resolutions demanding that Iran suspend uranium enrichment. The IAEA’s latest report says that Iran has increased its number of centrifuges by 1,000 to 8,000. However, nearly half of the machines are being overhauled, the report said, so the number of Iran’s operating centrifuges has actually decreased and the country’s uranium enrichment program has slowed down.
