Future jobs Renewable Energy, not nuclear – theme for January 2011
Renewable energy and energy efficiency already provide more jobs than does the nuclear fuel cycle. Green energy provides an increasing number and variety of jobs – jobs that are safer, without such security and secrecy concerns, healthier, and in a more pleasant and natural environment, – without worries for the health of the local community.
The nuclear energy industry is capital intensive, not labour intensive. And – the fewer workers the better, with the security concerns in such a secretive industry. Even uranium mining is developing with technology that removes many jobs.
Together, China and USA could make renewable energy soar
China’s rise offers a new and crucial opportunity. Paired, the countries can float a tremendous clean energy market that could buoy the industry worldwide – or sink it if they fail…….

5,000 jobs prospect for SW England’s renewable energy
The report said that wind farms, tidal and wave power could generate £48bn for the local economy. Most of the jobs would be in operating and maintaining offshore wind farms, tidal and wave power stations.
